Scopolamine patch / blurred vision before breast augmentation

Scopolamine can cause dilation of the pupil and therefore blurred vision. The half life of scopolamine is about 10 hours so your disconcerting symptoms will hopefully be gone in a day - a couple at most. Best of luck in your recovery.

Did you talk with your surgeon? Definitely let them know. Sometimes if you remove the patch and get the drug on your finger and touch your eye, it will cause enlargement of your pupil which can cause blurriness. Usually it should go down after several days, but again I would let your surgeon know. Best of luck!

If you touched the scopolamine patch and then touched your eye blurred vision and temporary pupil changes could result. Since the patch has been removed the issues should resolve. If they do not, contact your surgeon for an evaluation. Other medications that you may be taking should be evaluated as well.

The blurred vision following use of the scopolamine patch would be expected to resolve within 1-2 days. If you are still having symptoms, I would recommend contacting your plastic surgeon to discuss.

Your vision should clear up in a couple of days once the path is removed. If lubricant for your eyes was used in surgery, this can also give some blurred vision for a short time.

Scopolamine, Hyoscine, is a common drug used to prevent nausea from motion sickness and has also shown to be very effective in preventing post operative nausea and vomiting. When used in surgery settings a transdermal patch is typically utilized and placed behind the ear before the surgery and removed the next day. The effects can last 3 days and might cause dry mouth, dizziness and blurred vision. If you are still having blurred vision, make sure you remove the patch and wash the area thoroughly with soap and water, you may still have medication left on our skin that is being absorbed.
