How long do I have wait to have a plastic surgery after a root canal?

I would have you wait until you are completely healed from the oral surgery prior to getting on with the plastic surgery. This would likely be around a month or so. As always, be sure to research who performs your surgery to ensure the best likelihood of a positive result.

As long as your root canal goes well I would think 3- 6 weeks should be plenty safe. The issue becomes who determines if your root canal is successful or do you need further dental work. I personally leave those decisions up to the dentist. If you needed breast implants however, I would wait 6 weeks minimum. Best Wishes!!

A root canal is a common procedure to remove infected nerves and pulp. Then, the tooth’s interior is cleaned and sealed. Typically, a crown is placed on top of the affected tooth to ensure it maintains its proper function. Depending upon the length of time for the infection to clear, you may have 2 or more follow up visits to the endodontist. Ask both your board certified PS and endodontist for their advice regarding number of weeks to wait between procedures.

We recommend waiting about 6 weeks to make sure everything heals well and you have no complications. We don't like to put implants in during a time of dental work.

You need to be completely healed from any infection before considering surgery. If you are not having the root canal due to infection you may be able to proceed two weeks after your root canal if there are no complications. Your surgeon will advise you further on what is best in your particular situation.
