Can I avoid a breast lift with implants alone? (photo)

Thanks for your question! I think that some of this depends on your goals. If you are okay with the one areola being larger and a little lower on the breast mound, I think you could try and avoid it for now. However, you should keep it in mind that at some point, you will likely need a breast lift on the droopier breast. Good luck!

You will need BA with different sizes, but also you will need different work in your breas, one nipple it’s bigger than the other, so you need PABL in that side to make more similar your breast

It appears to me that your right breast has mild tuberous breast deformity, which is apparent in the blunted angle of the medial/inner portion of the breast, high-riding inframammary fold (IMF) position and the tubular shape and larger areola. This is unique set of anatomical differences that in my practice, requires a periareolar (around the areola) incision to control and reduce the size of the areola and in some cases raise it slightly. The IMF position may need to be lowered on the right side along with radial scoring performed (special incisions on the inside of the lower portion of the breast tissue to allow the constricted base to spread open). Sometimes asymmetric implants or the addition of fat grafting is needed to help improve the symmetric between the two sides. My best advice is to see a board certified plastic surgeon who can help develop a plan for the tuberous breast asymmetry after an in person exam and consultation!

Thank you for your question. It can work, yes. As long as you are ok with some asymmetry after surgery, especially with the areola size/location. The breast size difference can be reduced by choosing different size/profile implants if needed. Make sure to ask your plastic surgeon all your questions during your consultation!

Hi there, yes I think you could achieve a more symetrical and balanced look with two dfferent sized implants. I would reccomend doing the breast augmentation and then waiting 6 months- 1 year to let them heal and see if you need a lift.

Great question! Based on your photo, I would recommend an areola reduction and circumareolar lift on the right. Breast implants only increase the size of your breast and do not correct any breast, areola or nipple asymmetry. I would recommend that you see a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast surgery and breast asymmetry.

In my practice, I strive for perfection, symmetry, and balance. Your breasts are asymmetric with the left one being slightly more ptotic, slightly smaller, and lower than the left. Without a mastopexy (most likely only circumareolar would be required) there is virtually no way to get your nipple position exactly symmetric. If you underwent strictly a breast augmentation, you definitely would have beautiful cleavage, a nice full and natural look, however, your nipples would still be asymmetric and your left breast would likely still be lower than your left side. If you can live with this asymmetry and don’t expect perfection, you might be perfectly happy with just a breast augmentation alone. Additionally, you can always undergo a secondary mastopexy 6 months later if you are not fully satisfied with your outcome initially.

determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs.

Your breasts are asymmetrical in volume, shape and position. Also, one areola is larger than the other. I recommend a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, fat transfers or small implants can be placed if additional volume is desired.
