I got microneedling done today and i wasn't red at all. Im just curious if that's normal. It was very fast and bearable. Is that normal?
Answer: Skin after microneedling Hi rolias89,Thanks for your question -- it's a bit tricky to answer without knowing your skin type, other treatments you've had, what the goals of your microneedling treatment were, etc. There are certainly different depths and types of microneedling treatments, so those will play a roll as well. However, I can tell you that in my practice, all of my patients are at least pink, if not red, after their microneedling treatments. I would just check in with your provider to let him/her know and answer any questions you have. This will also help your provider make any necessary adjustments for next time.

Answer: Microneedling results--Add prp and lasers Everyone responds to treatment differently and mainly the needle depth and number of passes across an area will determine if there will be redness. If you have concerns about your treatment, I recommend following up with your Doctor. I do recommend adding prp and lasers to improve final results. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Microneedling w/PRP It is difficult to answer this question because there can be several different answers. Some patients do not want an aggressive treatment, so we may not go as deep, this patient will still have some pink/redness in the skin and the skin will feel very tight, where another patient may want to get more aggressive and they will leave very red and may have swelling. Microneedling in our practice for full face and neck is a 2 hour appointment. When using PRP during your treatment it helps speed up the healing while you are still being treated. Most patients prefer a more aggressive treatment. In my experience by day 3 the skin has calmed down, all redness has subsided and you may be a little flaky. Hope this helps!

Answer: No Redness after Microneedling Good morning and thank you for your question! It is difficult to predict how your skin would have reacted without knowing your skin type, color, or the settings that were used during your microneedling treatment. Depending on what your treatment goals were would dictate the depth of the needles used during the microneedling session. Usually, even after performing a light microneedling treatment the patient would have some erythema (redness) immediately following the procedure. However, the redness could go away relatively quickly if the settings used were not too aggressive. I would recommend doing a follow-up with the physician or esthetician who performed your treatment. Answer: Microneedling, Pain, Redness, PRP This can be normal, some peoples skin reacts more than others. It can also depend on the depth of the needles. Some doctors like to start gentle, and advance. Over treating - ie causing significant pin point bleeding, can be counter-productive. This can cause trauma and produce the negative inflammatory proteins. I like to use PRP with my microneedling. Less bruising and much better results. Good luck to you, Dr. Powell
