Dear elektrikkiss, you should be fully healed prior to another elective procedure. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
When BBL's are performed appropriately, they will result in fat that is stable with a high 90% graft take. This means that you can rest on your bottom as early as one week following fat transfer and not have to worry about fat graft loss. As such, you can consider any surgery, even jaw surgery, as early as one week following surgery. The optimal BBL outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACSRealself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
This is a question you need to ask both your plastic surgeon and your oral surgeon or dentist. some plastic surgeons have postoperative protocols limiting sitting and this may be an issue but other than specific restrictions there is really no need to wait any specific amount of time between the procedures.Dentist and surgeons sometimes have preferences or reasons why they like to give a certain amount of time but these are two unrelated operations and under normal circumstances there is no need to wait. The correct person to ask are the providers doing the procedures.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
Hello and thanks for your question. I typically tell my patients they should wait to sit/lie on their buttocks for about 4-6 weeks after surgery for optimal results. I would probably wait the full 6 weeks before jaw surgery because you will be lying flat for an extended period of time. Make sure to tell your doctor when you had the BBL. Please see a board-certified physician for your consultation. Best of luck to you! There are several reasons for butt lumps after a BBL and these include fat necrosis, pseudocapsules created around an area where too much fat was grafted (called a blow out), and even areas of skin redundancy that can create contour irregularities. Regardless, all of these areas can be corrected...
