I’m about 6 months revision rhinoplasty and can still feel the swelling in my nose. When can I start seeing the wideness of the nostrils go down ?
Answer: Revison Rhinoplasty Hi @SamiiF. Thank you for sharing your photos. It can take up to two years for swelling to subside after a revision rhinoplasty. Best of luck, Dr. Nima

Answer: Rhinoplasty revision: things you should know Thank you for your question and for providing photos. While the initial rhinoplasty recovery phase can last for at least one year, full recovery from a revision can last even longer, particularly in patients with thick nasal skin. It’s possible you’re still experiencing some residual swelling after six months, which may be somewhat diminished with steroid injections. I would suggest waiting a year or more post-surgery before considering another revision. If you’re still unsatisfied with the width at that time, your nose can be narrowed by removing tissue or osteotomy, depending on your specific situation. When considering a second revision, it’s important to note that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support, scar tissue, and other factors. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your surgical history, oversee your recovery process, and help you decide on the best way to move forward.

Answer: Nice nose! You appear to have thick nasal skin that can hold onto swelling more than thinner. Skin types. It can take 12 months or longer after your revision for all swelling to resolve. Sit tight and don’t worry. Hope this helps. Dr. Joseph.

Answer: Alar base reduction seem to be needed. Postoperative swelling of the nose can last from 8 months to 1 year, but even considering it, it is judged that alar base reduction is necessary.Asymmetry can never be perfectly corrected, but a significant improvement can be expected.

Answer: Nostril asymmetry and bulbous tip I think your tip bulbosity and nostril asymmetry need revision. I am not sure whether you have an implant on the bridge or not, but you have asymmetric nostril probably due to deviated caudal septum. There is still a room for volume decrease till 1 year but it is still bulbous. Wide alar base may need slight reduction to make your nose more harmonious, Thanks.
