Since your nose’s appearance will continue to change until at least one year post-surgery, it is best to wait until after this full recovery period to consider further adjustments. At that time, a revision can address the bumpy edges and hump you’re referring to, likely with rasping as your initial surgeon suggested.

Please keep in mind that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support, scar tissue, and other factors. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your surgical history, oversee your recovery, and answer any questions you have about your results or a second procedure.

You do not have an “open roof” per se. There are visible irregularities at the rhinion, where your nasal skin is thinnest. It may be associated with a small bump. Hello! Thanks for your question. It's possible that a small open roof is present. This often occurs when a hump is removed and the nasal bones are not adequately medialized to "close" the deformity. A rasp procedure may help to file the prominence down. Other times, further osteotomies are needed to create symmetry. I would revisit with your surgeon to learn what options may be best.
