I would ask your plastic surgeon (PS) as this will depend upon your anatomy, the surgeries performed, and the protocols established by your PS. A MM typically includes a TT, breast augmentation or breast lift, and liposuction. It's unlikely that any two MM patients will recover at the same pace. Much depends upon the health of the patient prior to surgery, and the level of physical activity and lifting following surgery. Depending upon your recovery from the procedures, your plastic surgeon may shorten or lengthen this period. I caution my patients that their abdominal muscles need time to repair, so I advise them to avoid strenuous exercise for a period of six weeks. Following 10-12 days of recuperation, you should be able to return to a sedentary job. Total recovery may take six months.
Hi thanks for your question. You should speak to your surgeon about this as every surgeon has their own post-operative guidelines that should be followed carefully in order to ensure your full and speedy recovery. That said, you should give yourself time to fully recover following your mommy makeover (minimum six weeks) before you decide to donate plasma.
If you are a healthy person, have an uneventful recovery and have no other contraindications to donate plasma, I would think that one month after your procedure you could donate plasma. You should check with your primary care doctor to be sure you have no contraindications. The donation center may also have certain criteria that you need to follow and so I would check with them as well. Best wishes.
Dear ayla1991,every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I appreciate your concerns and you should allow your body to fully recover after this fairly extensive surgery before donating blood or plasma. I would recommend waiting at least 4-6 weeks before donations of this sort. Consult with your board-certified plastic surgeon to confirm my advice. Good luck.
It’s important to consult with your healthcare provider for specific advice regarding when you can safely donate plasma after a mommy makeover, as recovery times can vary based on individual circumstances and the extent of the procedure. Typically, you should wait until you have fully healed and received clearance from your surgeon, which could be several weeks to a few months after the surgery.
Much of the decision on when you can donate plasma will be based on how you recover from the procedures. Your surgeon will be the best one to advise you as protocols will vary. You may be able to donate as soon as 4-6 weeks after surgery depending on how you are recovering.
Congratulations on your weight loss. Scheduling consultations with Drs is a good idea to start finding the surgeon that will best suit your needs. My recommendation to patients is to not have plastic surgery until you are near your goal weight. Continued weight loss will cause additional excess...
Hi & thanks for your question! You should completely stop smoking 3 weeks prior to surgery. You may be okay with 2 weeks. Contact your surgeon regarding his or her guidelines regarding this. Best of luck!
Breast lifts (mastopexy) are a powerful operation to help improve breast shape and overall position (when breasts have deflated and fallen inferiorly). After massive weightloss or multiple (sometimes even 1) pregnancy and breast feeding, the skin has stretched out. Breast lifts help reshape the...
