Is there a limit in the number of fractional CO2 laser treatments I can have?

Also, how many can I do and how long must I wait between treatments? As far as I know, cells can reproduce (divide) a limited number of times. What happen if I force them to divide many times doing many laser resurfacings? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your question. The determining factors are whether you have enough breast tissue, your cup size goal, nipple size and shape, brest size and shape, and a few other variables.  With all these taken into consideration, your surgeon can determine if you are a good candidate I hope this helps!

Ablative CO2 laser resurfacing achieves its results by
causing epidermal and dermal injury. Scar tissue (collagen) is formed as a result of the injury. This collagen both thickens the skin and
contracts as it matures improving texture and wrinkling. The micro holes created by the laser, remove
surface pigment and cover over quickly with new epithelium. The results of multiple treatments are
cumulative improving with each successive treatment. That is true up to a point when the amount of
scar tissue created becomes proportionately greater than the healthy uninjured
skin. Too many treatments can make a
patient look “mask” like. Patients with
thick oily skin can tolerate more treatments that those with thin skin.Treatments should be spaced greater than 3
months apart. Depending upon the aggressiveness of the
treatment 2 within a year and then a treatment yearly is generally sufficient
to achieve a patient’s objectives.

There is generally no limit to the number of fractional CO2 treatments that one can have.  Treatment intervals are generally spaced between 4-12 weeks, and may also depend on the density and fluence (energy/heat) put into the treatment itself.  Keep in mind remodellng and improvement can continue for up to 18 months following just one treatment though.  Collagen formation, remodelling and the improvement of the dermis/epidermis can be repeated multiple times, and the fractionated technology makes this a safe, well tolerated and repeatable treatment.
