Answer: Removing Freckles -- a combination of Lasers (IPL, Fraxel, BBL), Microneedling/PRP, TCA Peels, Cosmelan, See an Experta A combination approach will give the most improvement with freckles. I recommend lasers (IPL or BBL combined with Fraxel/Halo/Moxi), microneedling with PRP, Cosmelan and TCA peels. The number of sessions needed will vary. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Treatment of Freckles People with freckles typically have light skin which is also prone to sun damage. Laser resurfacing treatment can improve the sun damage but the freckles would eventually be expected to return.

Pictures would be helpful.Typically, some type of resurfacing or ablative laser is helpful such as an Erbium YAG Laser or a Co2 Laser. To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have these treatments. Answer: Treating Freckles Thanks for your question and my first recommendation is to have a consultation with a board-certified dermatologist to see exactly what the freckles you are talking about are. This needs to be determined first and then we can work with you to determine which laser out there might work best for you. There are lots of lasers and light sources and they all can work to make freckles go away. Sometimes an IPL might work, sometimes a microlaser peel with an erbium laser will work, and at other times, a fractional laser may be best for you. Things that will also be important to know is how much sun damage you have and how fast do you want them to go away, as some of the procedures will have more downtime than others --- this is where a skilled laser surgeon comes in to explain all the options, the risks and benefits, and what can be expected from each procedure. And remember, one laser may not treat everything, so check to make sure that the office you are going to has options – we want the condition to fit the device, not the device to fit the condition.
