Crepey skin on lower cheek close to mouth area. Will CO2 fix this? What are my other options?

Not wrinkles but best way to describe them are "crinkles" ;/ I'm only 38 CO2 Laser or...Have done lots of tanning in my younger days and paying for it today..is there anything that will get rid of or stop it from taking over my entire face? It just started recently and is in a small area but looks TERRIBLE..way worse than wrinkles, to me anyways. Considering getting a CO2 laser resurfacing...Will this do anything? Or would something else work..?

Yes, fractional CO2 laser treatments will typically significantly improve crepey skin in the lower face and mouth area.  More advanced fractional CO2 lasers (e.g. Active and Deep Fx laser) can be adjusted to treat minor to very significant texture and wrinkles issues in these areas.However, an in-person examination with a plastic surgeon would be required to more accurately recommend the best treatment program, which may include fillers and a skin care product regimen.The attached link and website provides more information.I hope this helps.

Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark pigmentation. Our approach utilizes a multi-depth approach that targets melanocytes in the epidermis and collagen fibroblasts in the dermis. This approach can be combined with a TCA Peel in a process known as a sapphire peel. Fractional laser is excellent for acne scars and contour scars in the skin. Patients are advised to undergo skin protocols with Melarase creams before and after treatment to help reduce pigmentation. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. After the laser, we expect redness for a few weeks as the skin improves. PRP and Hydrafacial enzyme facials can further improve skin quality after fractional co2.

Essentially a photo of your skin will tell a thousand words. To directly answer your question- yes, CO2 laser will help. Sometimes a fusion or blend of lasers can produce the best results-example Erbium resurfacing coupled with CO2 Fractional is my favoured treatment for this area. Most likely, if you have crinkles, then a filler can also help 'lift' the crepey skin at the angles of the mouth. For optimal outcomes, I suggest a combination of laser and fillers.
