12 days post op, looks terrible distorted!! Fat or swollen?? HELP!! (photos)

Hello. You are still very swollen! It is normal to be swollen, tight, sore, and bruised for weeks after a fat transfer, especially in the face and lips. Continue to follow your doctor's orders and follow up as recommended. It is also normal to have asymmetry while healing too. One side of the face might have more swelling than the other side. Doing things like sleeping elevated on your back with a neutral neck position and applying ice can help. Taking Arnica can help decrease bruising. Happy healing!

You have normal-appearing swelling, since you are less than two weeks out from your fat transfer procedure.  Go see your surgeon for an evaluation if you have concerns.

First of all, you have to be patient for at least 2 weeks for the swelling to go away. If your surgeon overinjected your face with fat, the fat grafts will have a survival rate below 50%, which means more than half of what he injected will dissolve. However, fat dissolving might take up to 3 months, especially if fat liquidation occurs.In this case, my suggestion would be to undergo a minor liposuction in areas which are distorted or overinjected.
