I’m 27, asian. Ever since I lost weight & got braces, my cheeks and lips are sagging. I removed 2 teeth due to an overbite & the gaps are almost closed (about 0.5 inches on both sides left). It’s been 2.5 years & my orthodontist says there’s less than a year left. I also heard there is something called thread lifting too. I’m wondering which one would be better in my case & I can’t stand how it looks so I was wondering if it’s ok to get either procedures done during my braces.
Answer: Fat injections AND midface lift Dear kamja25, Thankyou for providing your pictures for reference. As per your pictures it seems you would benefit from fat injections into nasolabial folds which are permanent and fill the lack of volume in those areas. Since you are young a surgical procedure is not the most recommended but even after fat injections you are not happy with the results you can look into midface lift targeting your mid section. Furthermore, I would advise you to carefully research for an expert surgeon who uses endoscopy scarless facelift which is will ensure no long-term scarring and a natural look. Best Regards, TAS TEAM

Answer: Consider dermal fillers to improve facial volume Thank you for submitting your question and providing photos. Considering your age and skin elasticity, you are not a likely candidate for a facelift procedure. However, you may want to consider dermal fillers to add volume to the areas of your face that are causing concern. Injectable fillers can volumize shallow contours caused by dental realignment and weight loss to produce natural and balanced results without surgical intervention. I recommend that you schedule an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can assess your concerns and help to determine the right treatment plan for you.

Answer: Threadlift or minimal access facelift Thank you for your question and sharing your photographs. As an escalation of treatment options you can consider: - Injectable filler treatment to decrease the visibility of the lines - Thread lift procedure to tighten the soft tissues and smoother contour along the corner of the mouth - Minimal access facelift which is carried out through an incision within the sideburn and therefore with minimal visibility. This would produce more significant improvement in the jawline and around the corner of the mouth. It may however need to combined with a temporal lift to absorb some more of the skin excess without noticeable scars. This depends on the characteristics of the skin. - Short scar facelift. The more powerful intervention for the areas of concern to you. However it is associated with more significant scarring and at your age it seems prudent to avoid such scars. In the balance, I would say that the minimal access facelift would be the procedure of choice for you.

Answer: Sagging cheeks Hello, thank you for your questions. So you have an elegant face and jaw line and great skin. A facelift is NOT the way to go in your case. If any intervention is needed, I would consider fillers. These are non permanent solution to give a lifted look. Thread lift is an option as well again non permanent solution which is good in this case.

Answer: Fillers, not surgery I would not do any cosmetic procedures with your braces because you may have a higher chance of infection. At 27, I would not advise a facelift, and I would be cautious about a thread lift. I perform them rarely for people who need a facelift but cannot/do not want to have one. When I look at your face, I do not feel that you need a thread lift. You may benefit from fillers to the cheeks, lips, and smile lines, but I would do it conservatively and not go overboard.
