I find it interesting that most of my colleagues here agree that Coolsculpting is for contouring localized fatty pockets in an individual close to their ideal body weight, whereas at least two recommend giving it a try in someone who is 55 pounds (25 kilos) overweight with predominantly visceral fat! This, BTW, is the fat that kills middle age men.Sure, Coolsculpting is nonsurgical and carries little risk (other than lightening your wallet), but really, this is not "sculpting" you are after, it's major fat removal (which incidentally, is more than is usually recommended for safe removal at one outpatient setting).Sorry, but Coolsculpting is NOT the answer here, and you know what IS--stop or reduce the beer consumption, diet and eat more healthy foods, and start a bit of exercise. You need to lose weight, not buy an operation or Coolsculpting. Get help from your family doctor if necessary (you'd need to see him or her anyway if you were having an operation), and get that body back! You can do it (I know it's a struggle)! Best wishes! CoolSculpting is not a weight loss technique..  Is probably best to lose some weight for undergoing CoolSculpting for body contouring.

CoolSculpting is useful for small areas or issues, but it is not good for weight loss, just as liposuction isn't.  There are many valuable benefits of CoolSculpting, but it doesn't seem like it is a match in your situation.  Good luck!

CoolSculpting is a body contouring treatment, not a weight loss procedure. It is used for areas of stubborn fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Typically, a beer belly is due to the accumulation of visceral fat located within the abdominal cavity and is not amenable to CoolSculpting treatment. Being 25 kg overweight does not make you an excellent Coolsculpting candidate.  However, if the love handles and belly areas are always stubborn, no matter how much weight you lose, then you can go ahead and start treating them while you work on losing weight.

CoolSculpting is meant for contouring, not weight loss.  It would work nicely to shape specific problem areas, but wouldn't make sense for overall treatment of more numerous areas that would respond better to weight loss.
