when does swelling go away after a revision rhinoplasty? now I am 8 months post op and not at all satisfied with the result I see. I would like to see another surgeon for a second opinion. what is your advice when can surgery be performed again after a revision nose?
Answer: Revision rhinoplasty In general, it's recommended to wait at least 12 months after the initial rhinoplasty before considering revision surgery. This is because it can take several months for the swelling to fully subside and the nose to heal completely after the initial surgery. It's important to discuss your individual case with a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon who can evaluate your situation and recommend the best course of action. They will be able to provide more specific guidance on the appropriate timing for revision rhinoplasty in your particular case.

Answer: What you should know about rhinoplasty recovery Thank you for your question. I’m sorry that you’re unhappy with the results of your initial rhinoplasty. Though much of the swelling is reduced within four months, your nose will be in a phase of recovery for at least one year following your rhinoplasty procedure. It is generally suggested to wait until this entire recovery process is complete to see the final results before considering a revision. Please keep in mind that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support, scar tissue, and other factors. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your surgical history, discuss your concerns with you, and develop the best treatment plan to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Answer: Rivision rhinoplasty timing We suggest a minimum of 1 year before doing revision rhinoplasty. In same cases it is better to wait longer until result matures and patient and surgeon know exactly what is going on; swelling and scarring can significantly affect presented deformity. Hope this helps. Good luck.
