How long should a patient have a low sodium diet for after rhinoplasty?

Question

After a month or two will it make much difference to how quickly swelling in the tip resolves long term if once or twice a week is a high sodium day? Will alcohol also prolong how quickly swelling takes to fully dissipate?  Thank you for your help

You can start your Diet after your Medication. when you are finished with your Antibiotics you can start with your Diet.

Everybody responds differently so its difficult to say for sure.  You may notice increased swelling the day after either alcohol or high sodium intake.  Either way, this would be temporary swelling which should subside in a day or so once those items are removed from your diet.

Neither of these things will make any difference at all. Essentially, you don't have control over the postop swelling, and it isn't helpful to pretend you do. Having a rhinoplasty is a stressful experience partly because you are handing control of your permanent appearance to a surgeon and the indeterminate forces of your DNA as exemplified by the healing response of your body.

Hello, food and water taken in the first 7 days are very important in the recovery of swelling, ie edema, in the nose after Rhinoplasty.As a precaution, although there is almost no swelling in my patients, thanks to the Preservation Rhinoplasty technique I use; I recommend my patients to drink 2-2.5 liters of water daily, depending on their body mass index, in the days following the surgery. Although the salt ratio in their diet is very effective for edema, I do not warn you about it. Likewise, alcohol can affect the edema in the first days as it stores water in the body and I do not recommend it as it increases the risk of bleeding. I don't think it will have an effect.
