I fractured my nose after a bicycle fall and it's been 40 days but I still feel a bony callus from the trauma on the side of my nose, and that seems to be causing the the extra curved look. Will this callus go down or will a little shaving be necessary? My nose will probably never be the same without a procedure but how much longer do I wait to consider my options? I've read reports about up to 6 months!
Answer: Rhinoplasty Surgery Thank you for your question i would recommend operation using the latest Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty device Piezo®: In traditional Rhinoplasty, surgical instruments known as rasps and osteotomies (hammer and chisel) are used to reshape the nasal bones by removing the hump and/or narrowing the nasal bone width. These tools are relatively imprecise and their use can lead to contour irregularities, etc. if not used in the proper manner. Recently, a technology that uses sound waves has been developed to contour nasal bones in a precise and far less traumatic way when compared to traditional techniques. Ultrasonic, or Piezo, Rhinoplasty is now the most advanced technology available for minimally traumatic nasal bone reshaping and hump removal during Rhinoplasty. There will be hardly any bruising and swelling which will make the recovery period a lot easier for the patient.

Answer: Trauma to the nose It is difficult to predict whether this contour defect with resolve on its own with time. I recommend you wait at least 6 months to allow the body to heal and if it is still present at that time, schedule a consultation with a plastic surgeon. Best of luck.

Answer: Traumatic nasal deformity Though 6 months is considered the "gold standard" following a nasal insult from trauma or surgery, if the nose seems to be stable and unchanging, I think it might be approached earlier. Hard to say what the exact treatment would entail without surgically inspecting the deformity. But, in any event, it does not seem very complicated!

Answer: Rhinoplasty I doubt the bump will go away on its own and that you need a rhinoplasty to correct it. Also I don’t think the bump can just be filed down. Your bridge needs to be lowered a bit to eliminate the bump which means a full rhinoplasty. Six months is about right although some surgeons might do it as early as three.
