Hello - I've been to three surgeons, and each recommended a different procedure. One recommended a lower face lift, one recommended a neck lift, and a third recommended chin lipo. I don't know which procedure I should get. I'm 45 years old, and my neck has always looked like this. Thank you!
Answer: Neck Lift v. Lower Face Lift v. Chin Lipo - I'm confused! Hello Masie,Your decision really depends on your expectations. You can have a RF treatment like FaceTight and may be happy. Does this provide the same lasting result as a surgical neck lift...time will tell. Liposuction is an option but a great deal on the efficacy of this treatment depends upon your skin elasticity and expectations. Hope this helps.Sincerely, Dr K

Answer: Neck Lift v. Lower Face Lift v. Chin Lipo It's hard to suggest without knowing what your goals are. Perhaps this will provide you more helpful info to base your decision upon. The presence of banding down the front of the #neck, and, amount of excess skin and condition of your skin are among some factors which determine if you are a #candidate for #rejuvenating the neck. During an in-person examination, your chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. In younger individuals a chin implant alone is usually all that is needed to improve the appearance of the neck. Subsequently, it will also improve the overall #balance of the face and can create the illusion of a smaller nose. As a stand-alone procedure, chin augmentation can be performed in the office under local #anesthesia. For individuals with signs of #aging in the neck, a chin implant added to one of the recommended procedures above, will provide optimal results. However, you may also benefit from Lite-lift™. Lite-lift™ is an affordable, quick, and effective innovative facelift developed by board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Larry Nichter and myself. The goal is to provide a less invasive natural looking option for both men and women desiring to refresh their appearance with less downtime and risks. The LiteLift® is a “real” facelift, which does address the underlying muscle, tissue and overlying skin. This is a modified facelift that can be performed in the office with a local anesthetic and improve signs of aging around the neck, jawbone and lower face. These procedures are not "Thread-lifts" or "String-lifts". We do not use the "barbed" sutures employed in these other lifting operations. The Lite-lift™ uses longer lasting techniques. Because the incisions are limited, there is less bruising, swelling and healing time for most patients. Many patients can be back to work in one to two weeks looking rested and more youthful. A facelift can be customized to adrdress the lower face to include your chin and neck area. Liposuction is oftern applied to the neck if necessary. You should begin by consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon who will evaluate both your anatomical features and aesthetic goals. She or he will suggest which procedure best suits your needs. In some cases there may be more than one option to choose from.

Answer: Neck Lift, Lower Facelift, or Chin Lipo The only way to know for sure which treatment plan will be best to achieve your goals is to be evaluated by someone who is not limited in their approach to treating the neck, surgically and non surgically. It does become confusing when you get different recommendations from different doctors, but it is not a surprise. Every physician has their own philosophy and approach. It may help to consider that aging comes in different patterns and is unique to each patient. Treatment recommendations will vary from surgical to nonsurgical, such as radio frequency, laser, ultrasound, and injectables. One thing to understand is that if the neck muscles (platysma) are loose, the only treatment that will effectively tighten the neck will be a surgical neck lift. Nonsurgical treatments focus on tightening skin. If the lower face is contributing to the looseness of the neck, then it is worth considering combining a neck lift with a lower facelift. In the right patient, nice results can be achieved with liposuction combined with laser or radio frequency skin tightening.

Answer: Face and neck lift It sounds as if a combination of procedures is the best solution. You might consider a facelift with attention to the neck which incorporates liposuction as well.
