I have an asymmetrical mouth at rest and especially when speaking. When I speak it looks as though I am a stroke victim. Is there any way to correct this problem? I have included several pics showing my lips at rest, speaking, and smiling. I would appreciate any feedback regarding this.
Answer: Asymmetrical Smile 995cmg. I think you’re being a bit hard on yourself. Your asymmetry is only apparent when you smile, so correction must be done with great care because your lips are quite attractive when in repose. I recommend correction with a filler like Juvederm Ultra plus by an experienced injector very conservatively because over correction will cause another asymmetry. If you like the result, then you can consider fat transfer for a longer lasting result. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist with lots of experience treating lips. Good luck!

Answer: Filler You should start out with 1cc of juvederm filler or restylane filler and go from there. You do not want to overdo too much filler in the lips. It also depends on the look you are going for too. You can always add more filler to the lips if needed. Just remember if you are going to do your lips and you do not want to bruise you should not take any aspirins or anything that will thin the blood since brusing can occur. One syringe is typically $550

Answer: Lip Augmentation Thank you for your question. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine your candidacy for lip injectables and fillers. It can create a more even lip line. Best wishes,

Answer: Asymmetric lips Thanks for your question, I don't love the idea of chasing asymmetry with filler. Most times, the asymmetry is with movement and not at rest. This is usually because some people have different strengths of facial contraction and movement which can be nerve related or muscle related. You would be a good candidate for lip filler, but asymmetrical filling (to help dynamic asymmetry) can look silly at rest. We're our own worst critic so keep that in mind and find an experienced specialist who performs lip augmentation regularly. Hope this helps and God Bless!Dr. Robb

Answer: Asymmetrical Lips? Lip Filler Candidate You appear to be a candidate for lip fillers. Lip augmentations with fillers is a great option to improve the fullness, suppleness and symmetry of the lips. Results can be very natural-looking and will feel very natural. The amount needed will depend on your desired results, but 0.5 will give improvement. I prefer to use a micro cannula to inject the lips to prevent bruising. Look for a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is an expert in fillers. I hope this helps.
