Am I too skinny for BBL at 5’7 and 130lbs? (Photos)

Question

I know I need to gain weight but how much? My goal weight for the procedure is 150 is that reasonable? I used to weigh around 140. My booty used to be much bigger. I gain/lose weight all in my stomach and butt.

A good candidate has enough fat available for transfer in the procedure. The amount of fat that can be transferred in a BBL depends on how much fat the patient has to harvest and the amount of space there is to move the fat into. It is recommended for the patient to have a BMI of 30 or less. If you are too thin, a Brazilian Butt Lift may not be possible.

One of the main considerations when evaluating a patients’ candidacy for Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery is whether they have enough fat stored in their body, so the plastic surgeon can harvest enough fat cells to use during the fat transfer phase. For patients with insufficient fat deposits, the plastic surgeon may advice weight gain before the BBL to qualify for the procedure. I would suggest gaining at least 20 lbs. prior to your surgery. This really depends on your expectations and goals. At your current height and weight, it is possible to obtain enough fat to fill in the indentations in the lateral hip. I would estimate being able to obtain 250-300 cc's  for each buttock. The amount of fat that can be obtained would definitely increase with a 20 pound weight gain, but keep in mind that you would have to remain at that weight after surgery in order to keep the volume.#StayBeautiful #RealDrWorldWide

Thank you for your question. You appear to have enough fat to get good results from a BBL. When planning a Brazilian butt lift, patients can look forward to a double benefit: reducing areas of unwanted fat while gaining a perkier, rounded posterior.  Each procedure must be planned according to the individual needs of patients, harvesting fat from target areas of the torso, thighs or knees and transferring it to create smooth, attractive contours optimized for each person.The amount of fat transferred depends on the quantity available and the extent of buttock augmentation each patient desires.  Sufficient body fat for a buttock augmentation is very patient-specific, depending on an individual’s body shape and proportions as well as their expectations.  
Buttock augmentation with fat grafting is one of our most popular procedures in Colombia, and from experience we can tell you that some patients do very well with 300 cc of fat per side while others can need 800 cc or more.  That said, you definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  Best is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

I would recommend gaining some weight prior to surgery so more fat can be harvested and transferred. Based on the photos, you appear to be a good candidate for moderate transfer but you need to have realistic expectations. Seek a plastic surgeon who performs many of these procedures, has great reviews and photos, and is an expert in this field.
