I am about 7 weeks post BBL surgery and was cleared to sit and lay down at 6 weeks, but when I do, it’s not comfortable, so I really don’t unless I have to. My butt still feels hard, stiff, and still a bit sore. My first question is, at this point, even if I’m sore, can I still kill the fat by sitting or laying on it? Or perhaps flatten it? Also, exercising isn’t fun either. The bouncing from running hurts my butt, so I’ve been walking. Squats also feel weird. When will my butt feel “normal”?

Answer: BBL results Dear LC817,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Soreness after BBL The most important advise I can give you is use it. The more active you are the quicker all of your discomfort will go away. This is called desensitization. We perform BBLs for patients throughout the world and the common feedback is that the quicker patients return to physical activity, the quicker they will feel normal. We encourage our BBL patients to get back to the gym as early as 3 weeks following BBL. Don't worry about the fat, it can't move around and if it is alive at one week, it will be alive forever.
