I've had Botox for 6 years with no problems but this time my right eye began to droop after 2 days and by the 3rd day was almost closed!. I saw a experienced doctor and I also had fillers put in my tear trough and at top of cheeks. He injected near hairline and corners of eye, in between the eyes and then above the eyebrow which I admit I don't think Ive had before ! I'm seeing an eye specialist today in the hope he can help.
Answer: Side effects of Botox First of all, I am extremely sorry this happened to you. Did you see the same doctor who always injected you in the past? This is probably caused from the location the botox was injected at above your eyebrow. The good news is, botox does not last forever and eventually this should resolve on it's own. In the mean time, I would seek medical advice from a professional in your area who can assess you in person. Good luck!

Answer: After 6 years of Botox... Thank you for your question. Unfortunately Botox must have migrated causing your eyelid to droop. Botox takes approx. 3 months to wear away and this will resolve. All the best,

Answer: Complications of Botox, they happen but most can be reversed. Sorry to hear about the complication you have had. If its any consolation, it will happy to many people at some point if you use Botox long enough. As you know, Botox works by paralysing small muscles in your face. Doing this prevents wrinkles from forming. However, Botox can paralyze more important muscles if it finds its way to them. What happens in this situation, is the Botox that was injected between your eyes and above your eyebrow found its way to the muscle that keeps your eyelid open. Remember, it only takes a minute amount of Botox to do this. In all fairness to the person who injected, this is a complication that can happy to anyone and will happen to every injector at some point. Now for the good news. For one, it will be temporary. Its hard to predict how long, but it can last anywhere from a month to 3 months typically. Usually it wears off quicker as only a small amount found its way to the eye muscle. The second piece of good news is that there is a eye drop that can help reduce it. Interestingly, there are two muscles that keep your eye open. One is effected by Botox, the other isn't. You can get an eye drop that makes the other muscle work harder and will open your eye more. Often times this can make it look close to normal while you wait for it to wear off. Hopefully things progress and it goes away. James Bonaparte, MD, MSc, FRCSCFacial Cosmetic and Reconstructive SurgeronOttawa, Ontario, Canada

Answer: Droopy Eye After Botox Sorry to hear about your bad Botox experience. It seems as though the Botox injection above your eyebrow was either improperly placed, or some of it migrated down to weaken your eyelid muscle. Sometimes, Iodipine eye drops can help temporarily improve this. Otherwise, there is not much you can do but wait until the Botox wears off in 2-3 months. The good news is that everything will go back to normal once the Botox wears off.

Answer: Eyelid ptosis after Botox is very rare but a very debilitating problem I'm sorry you have this problem. It is an extremely rare problem that occurs because the muscle that elevates the eyelid had been affected by the Botox. Iopidine drops will help elevate the lid somewhat until the Botox wears off. It is cased by improper injection of the Botox. It will get better in a few weeks usually.
