I have had great success with injecting platysmal bands, this will not change the thickness of your neck though, it will only help minimize the appearance of the bands in your neck. I would recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area.

Neck bands do very well with botox but you have to see if you are a candidate for something non surgical or for something that would require a surgical intervention.  I suggest going to a facial contouring expert.  Best, Dr. Emer.

If the cause of your concern is thick neck bands from an overactive platysma muscle, then Botox can be successfully used to treat this. Yes, Botox can paralyze the neck muscles (platysma) which can form bands.  The results can be great, but you will need to be reinjected in about 6 months.

Botox, when expertly administered, can reduce the projection and strength of the masculinizing platysmal bands you are speaking of. As we age those bands tend to become stronger and more prominent thus leaving our neck less youthful in appearance. In your case it sounds as though you may lack excess subcutaneous fat and have overall good skin tone without laxity therefore would be an excellent candidate. The Botox injection would not allow the platysmal bands to contract and project as it sounds yours are doing. It is very important to go to an injector who does this quite often as placement is key in getting desired results.

Botox when done carefully by a very experienced physician can work well for hyperactive platysma neck "turkey bands" but probably not a good safe answer for muscular neck only.Its use for cosmetic purposes of the neck is off label and if not done properly can cause problems eg in swallowing.Please see a board certified plastic surgeon for a comprehensive analysis of your anatomy and options
