I am scared to death 1 vial Radiesse per cheek will be conspicuous. I am 70 yr old guy, getting upper bleph

If you are really worried about getting too much filler, it might be wise to start with a hyaluronic acid based filler, ie Juvederm or Restylane.  These fillers are reversible with an enzyme injection, as opposed to Radiesse, which is not.  1 vial of filler per side for cheeks is not a crazy amount.  Sometimes we will inject 2-3 times that much in certain cases.  Just have an open, honest conversation with your surgeon.  

Thank you for your question. I don't think you have to worry too much about single vile being over done in your cheeks. For better or for worse at 70 typically it takes a lot more product to see an excess a result. Just express your concerns to your surgeon and I'm sure they will do what you're looking for. Radiesse comes in two volume vials.  There is a larger 1.5cc vial and a smaller 0.8cc vial.   1.5cc per cheek is likely only going to produce a subtle difference in each cheek in a 70 year old without prior injections.  Having said that, you can always elect to wait for the filler injections and have them done while you are awake and can see the results of injections while it is being performed.  I suspect you will want the larger volume in each cheek.  Good luck!

Depending on how much volume loss one has, one Sryringe of Radiesse per cheek is not unusual.  The two procedures are unrelated in that the placement will not affect the other. 

As we age, the Cheek bones flatten then having filler injected in the cheeks would offer great natural looking results.
I have had patients had only one Radiesse altogether and patient was happy with the results. I also have had patient who had 4 syringes in one session and still came back after 2 weeks and wanted more.
All depends on the current structure of your face, cheek bones and your goals. It is also art of sculpting and creating natural but enhanced look.
 since the results are immediate, you can evaluate it yourself after having one syringe. And then go for more if you feel you need it.

Great question and concern. The product you are considering (Radiesse) comes in a 1.5 ml syringe. I respect your concern but I would also recommend one syringe or 1.5 ml per side. Results are what we seek and I feel only 3/4 ml per side would be insufficient to assist you in the look you desire. Good luck

Thank you for your question.  If you are concerned about the volume you can definitely ask for excess to be discarded, but i think a more prudent approach would be to use a hyaluronic acid filler like Voluma or Lyft as they are dissolvable if you don't like the outcome whereas Radiesse is not.  Please discuss with your Surgeon or Board Certified Dermatologist for best outcomes.  Regards, Dr. Matt Elias

This is not an unusual amount but if you are concerned have your injector use only 1/2 of the syringe in each cheek and then you can get more if you wish

 Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction, blepharoplasty and/or facelifts for over 30 years.  I typically no longer use Radiesse to shape the cheeks but prefer using Restylane Lyft which can be used precisely to shape but still be inconspicuous if that is your desire.  In my humble opinion and experience shaping the face 1.5cc syringe of Radiesse to each cheek would make the cheeks quite large and full.  Worst yet, Radiesse unlike any HA dermal filler can't be dissolved if it's over done and you don't like the results. Following my beauty principles, men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles.   The following procedures would create a more ruggedly handsome face.
Cheek augmentation with cheek implants to add angularity to the cheeks and mid face.  Liposuction can be combined to reduce any excess fat to further shape the cheeks and face.
Chin augmentation, using a chin implant, to add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face.  I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years.  When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin".  Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face.  Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck.  Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision.  I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut bone segments).  I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone.  In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery.  
Augmentation of the mandibular angles using a dermal filler (jaw implants have too many unwanted side effects IMHO) to add volume, angularity and flare to the jaw line.
