Sides of nose swollen & tip very swollen 8 month post-op, will this reduce in next few months? (Photo)

Question

I love my side profile. But front the front the sides of my bridge is still very swollen on side more than the other. I didn’t have splints in my nose after the surgery would that have caused my nose not the recovery properly? Would this swelling still reduce in the next few months?

Indeed, following nose surgery swelling may remain present for a year or longer. I would ask your rhinoplasty surgeon for additional thoughts...

At 8 months most of the swelling should be resolved.  If the nose skin and cartilage feels soft and supple you should be there.  You may be a candidate for revision to narrow your nasal bones and address the tip asymmetry.

Based on your photo, you appear to have relatively thin nasal skin that does not hold on to swelling as long as in those with thicker nasal skin types. Did you have osteotomies after your hump was removed? Everyone's nose appears a bit wider after we remove a bump in the operating room. Why osteotomies are performed: To close the "open roof deformity." Please address your concerns with your surgeon or with another reputable rhinoplasty specialist so you can gain Clarity.
