Why do all noses look larger in "selfies" than in real life ?I will exaggerate the answer. In close-up photos, the tip of the nose is relatively much closer the camera than the ears.In a photo taken from 10 yards away, the ears and the nose are pretty much the same distance from the camera, even with a telephoto lens. So, in a "selfie", which is taken at arm's length, the nose is relatively closer to the camera than the face, and so it looks bigger.
The angle at which the photograph is taken can significantly affect the way your features appear. If the camera is positioned slightly below your face, it can create the illusion of a larger nose, whereas a more level or elevated camera angle can make your nose appear more proportionate. Different camera lenses have also varying levels of distortion. Wide-angle lenses, for example, can exaggerate objects that are closer to the camera, including your nose. On the other hand, telephoto lenses tend to compress the image and may make your nose appear smaller. Lighting plays a crucial role in photography and can create shadows or highlights that affect the perception of facial features. Harsh lighting from above can cast shadows on your nose, making it appear more prominent, while soft, diffused lighting can minimize shadows and create a more balanced look.I hope this helps, best of luck !
