The 1st picture is me at 27. I had been on Yaz birth control pills for 7yrs then. When this picture of me & the horse was taken, I stopped Yaz, and got the MIRENA IUD. This is when things seemed to start going downhill-I started battling cystic acne, but could cover with heavy makeup. The 2nd pic is me at 28yrs &heavy makeup. The last 2 pictures are me now at 29yrs-I've been on accutane for 5mths, & been off for one week. I've just been shocked as I watch myself age. I don't know what to do?

Answer: Skin changes from 27-29 can be modified The skin changes that you are seeing might be in part due to volume loss, maybe with weight loss and maybe even from severe dryness after accutane. If you ride you need protection from outdoor exposure. There are a lot of things that can be done now and others in future. You need good sun protection and to get on a good regimen that will protect and redydrate your skin without making you break out. I would not do peels or laser until 6 months after accutane but there are things that can be done to help your skin look more vibrant. Get with a dermatologist that you trust and discuss this.

Answer: Use Non-invasive Procedures and Skin Care Six Months after Accutane Not many people are going to notice a major change in your appearance, but you do and that's the most important part. I would caution you on anything surgical at this point in your life and would stick with procedures which are non-invasive and skin care which can make a difference in how you look and how you feel. You are now off isotretinoin or Accutane for a week, so most would not recommend any procedure for a while — at least 6 months after the use of Accutane — it's sort of the cosmetic rule for invasive procedures because of potential risks of increased scarring.I would recommend going to a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon and let them evaluate your skin, determine the most appropriate skin care routine for you, and then you all can determine if it will be beneficial to use a filler to treat the areas that bother you or whether a radiofrequency device can be used to make the skin look better – all things that can be done non-invasively and just off Accutane.Don't go crazy — it's not needed.
