Is 3 months too early to do a ski trip after rhinoplasty?

Hi @queenofwands! I usually recommend 6 weeks of no contact sports since it takes about 6 weeks for the nasal bones to heal. You should be good after 3 months! Best of luck.

Provided you do not cause any trauma to the nose during skiing, you should be fine. But falls and bumps may happen when you ski. So you should be careful. You may also want to check with your surgeon to get his opinion before you go.

It is always a good thing to run this by your surgeon, but your timing with the surgery and returning to activity shouldn't be an issue in my mind.  I usually tell my patients to wait 2 weeks before returning to cardio activities, 3 weeks before heaving lifting and 6 weeks before any sort of contact sport or activity.  The reason for this is that the nasal bones take 6 weeks to heal and they must wait out that time.  Hope this helps and enjoy the slopes!

I would definitely get your surgeon's opinion. However, I tell my patients no strenuous exercise or heavy lifting for 3 full weeks follow surgery. For skiing and wearing tight fitting goggles/masks, more like 6 weeks. 

You will be ok to ski at this time. Three months is sufficient healing time from rhinoplasty.

Hello and thank you for your question. I usually recommend normal activity about 4 to 6 weeks post surgery, depending on the extent of surgery. At 3 months if you feel ok, there should be no problem. Enjoy your holiday.
