Before I had a bulbous nose, but my side profile was straight. I went to seoul for tip and alarplasty. Dr suggest hump removal which i didn't need. He said that it is free for me so I accepted. Now on the side my nose tip looks too high and my nose is hooked. The dr said it's swelling but other patients side profile were straight at least. Maybe he remove too much? Will my tip drop to make my nose look straight as before or at least straight/linear and not hooked or do I have a bad rhino?
Answer: 1 month after surgery: high tip and low dorsum. Please do not get nervous and be patient, at this point the tip is usually upturned and swollen. If the tip was manipulated, somewhere between 3 and 5 months after the procedure you will see an improvement in tip contour definition and gradually tip will be descending noticeably for about 12 months. In your case there are at least two components which need to be taken into consideration: 1. What is being perceived as a tip elevation may be a soft tissue fullness above the tip-polybeak. I would discuss this either with your surgeon or, if that is not an option, with a local experienced rhinoplasty specialist to consider treatment of that area with local steroids. 2.Traditional start of the nasal dorsum should be around upper eyelid crease level and be angled at about 36 degrees to the face, in your case the start of the dorsum is somewhat low. You may elect to address that factor, but it is better to wait for about 12 months to see the stabilized appearance of the nose. Thank you, just be patient for now.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Things may still improve specially if you have a hard swollen tip. Once the swelling has subsided, you may benefit from a correction of the supratip fullness you still have.

Answer: Swelling takes one year + to go down At this point it is normal to have significant swelling of the nose. It is common for the tip of the nose to look more upturned initially and will likely drop over the course of the year. Follow up with your surgeon to discuss steroid shots and taping the nose. Only after a year will you better be able to evaluate the effect of the hump removal.

Answer: 1 month post op rhinoplasty: my tip is too high and my nose looks hooked. Will my tip drop? Thank you for your question. This is too early to comment as there is a lot of swelling. Please wait for several months (upto one year) before judging the final appearance of your nose. You should also discuss your concerns with your Plastic Surgeon who can help you understand what was done. All The Best !

Answer: Post Rhino Thank You for your question. Looking at your photos, the nose looks as it should right now. It's too soon to comment when you still have a lot of swelling. Usually with rhinoplasty, it looks worse before it looks better. Also, most doctors raise the tip because then it drops. If you are unhappy in a few months from now, perhaps revisit the surgeon.Good Luck,Dr. Elliot Heller

Answer: Post-op Rhinoplasty Hi and thank you for your photos and question. I certainly understand your concern. However, it's too early to make any conclusions. It has only been a month since your procedure and you are still swollen and in a healing process which can take up to 1 year. I suggest you wait a few months and contact your surgeon if the issue persist. You may also seek a board certified surgeon here is the U.S. with extensive experience in rhinoplasty. Find someone you connect with, who will listen to your concerns and provide you with a framework for what is possible. All the best, Dr Gary Linkov
