Does Botox or similar products injected in the forehead area cause ear connections and hearing loss?

It would be very unlikely for Botox to contribute to hearing loss. The most likely scenario would be an ear infection or viral inflammation causing ear problems that happened to start around the same time as the Botox injections. While anything is possible, it's most likely not related to Botox. If the hearing loss and ear congestion continues, I would see a general practitioner or an Otolaryngologist to help get to the bottom of your problem.All the best,

Thanks for your question! I can understand why you're frustrated. Unfortunately, I don't believe there is any correlation between Botox injections and hearing loss. Personally, I'm not aware of any patients who have experienced the symptoms you're describing. Please follow up with your injector or visit a medical provider if the problem persists.

The muscles and nerves associated with Botox aren't connected to those that have to do with hearing, so I would not believe it has anything to do with your injection. I am unaware of any such cause and effect relationship between the two.  Consider consulting with an ENT/facial plastic surgeon who performs botox injections.  Perhaps he/she can irrigate your canals and repeat the botox injections when it becomes necessary.

Thank you for your question. I'm not aware of there being any connection and just based on the anatomy, I don't see how it is possible. I would see your PCP and have your hearing evaluated to look for another, treatable cause.

Thanks for your question. Botox injectable solution is very safe. On very rare occasions, it has caused muscle and nerve problems. In your case, it is highly unlikely for a forehead Botox treatment to contribute to hearing loss. The nerves and muscles in the region of Botox treatment have no connection with hearing. It is possible that a viral or bacterial infection might have set in at the same time as Botox treatment. I have to agree that hearing loss hasn't been found to be connected to Botox injections as the nerves/muscles that control that aren't in an area that can be treated with Botox.  I would follow up with a local ENT who can examine your ear canal, and likely provide better insight into the reason behind this event. It wouldn't hurt to mention that you received Botox, where it was injected and amount if you know, just to be on the safe side.
