I'm hoping to find out from some Real Self doctors how many units you estimate I need for these areas. I've had mixed results, esp around my eyes, and I'm wondering if the doctor needed to use more units. I'm also wondering if there are any treatments that you think would be particularly effective for me. I'm attaching pictures, and please excuse my ridiculous expressions. I tried to show where and how my skin moves. Other treatments?
Answer: How many units of Botox To know the exact amount, you will need to see a physician injector to discuss the look you are going for, what particular areas you would like treated, and what types of results you've seen from previous injections. I generally will use 10-20 units in the forehead, 20-30 units in the glabella, and 10 units on each side of the crow's feet areas for a total of 50-60 units in most cases. Be sure to see an expert physician injector. All the best,

Answer: Botox dosing Thank you for your question. First of all, I would be interested in knowing when you last were treated with Botox, to understand your baseline and dose appropriately. Your glabella (the muscles just above and between your brows responsible for frown lines) appears very smooth. Even so, if this is with no Botox active, I would suggest at least 10 units placed in that area. Botox in the upper face is very much about balancing those muscles that lift, with those that lower. Those horizontal lines across your forehead are caused by the frontalis muscle, as it lifts upward. The right dose of Botox will render it less active, softening the lines. Too much will drop it and feel heavy. By also injecting a bit to the glabella it will give you some lift and support, balancing the relaxed upper forehead and creating an overall refreshed, smooth effect. With that security in place, I would inject 12 to 14 units into your forehead, and 10-12 units per side of your eyes for crows feet. It is always a great idea to go in for a 2 week follow-up to assess the outcome and determine your perfect dose.

Answer: Quantity of Botox needed for excellent results? The quantity and the placement of Botox units depends on in-person exam and it is not as simple as specific units in specific locations. The size of the muscle and the depth of injections are also important for optiomal results. Please make sure that you see an experienced doctor for a thorough consultation and assessment prior to undergoing any treatments.Best regards and I hope this helps, Dr. Sapijaszko (Fellow, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery)

Answer: Botox units As each person is unique, you may want to begin with finding out how many units you have used in the past around the eyes and increasing it a bit. The forehead also varies. You do not want to be too aggressive with the forehead in order to avoid the "frozen" look or drop the brow. I would begin more conservatively in that area, and then touch up as needed in order to reach the desired look. An estimate would be around 40-50 units to treat the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes.
