I have a relatively small pooch right above my mini TT incision, 2.5 weeks post opp. When I push on it, I can see/feel water swishing around. I went to see my PS five days ago, and she said she didn't see the need to drain it, and that it would resolve on its own. Her perspective is that draining it would be invasive, and potentially nothing would come out. It has stayed the same for the last five days with no improvement. Just wondering if other doctors would also leave it alone?

During a full abdominoplasty there is an incision around the belly button so that the tissue can be lifted allowing the surgeon access to the full abdominal wall including the upper abdomen. In a mini tuck the belly button is not freed up so only the area below it will have the muscle wall...
Recovery will vary by the patient but generally speaking I tell my patients they can resume light impact exercise after four weeks and return to strenuous activity after six weeks. You may want to wear your compression garment when you return to activity as well in order to support the tissues...
This sounds so great in theory, but in reality is not a good idea. Your body goes through many changes during the nine months of pregnancy and it needs time to return to a baseline. It's best if you wait a minimum of six months after you have your baby before considering a tummy tuck.
