Juvaderm Voluma lasting 4+ Years?

On average, Juvederm Voluma lasts about two years in the midface, but everyone metabolizes the product differently. It could be that you still have Voluma, or possibly what you’re seeing is the increased collagen that Voluma produced. Either way, as long as you’re happy with the way your cheeks look, there is no reason to get more Voluma. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert at administering dermal fillers if you do decide you want more Voluma.

Thank you for the question. Voluma, according the product literature, should last 2 years. In practice, this is highly variable. Some patients have faster metabolism for hyaluronic acid and the filler will be gone in a year (or less). Others have very slow metabolism and the filler can hang around for more than 2 years. At 4 years post-treatment, almost all patients will have metabolized the Voluma. 

its RARE for fillers to last that long, especially HA fillers although i have had cases of swelling udner the eyes or in lips from fillers years later. Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  The best method of determining prolonged Voluma is examining your current day pictures to those from before treatment 4 years ago.  It is doubtful that any original Voluma remains as its anticipated duration is 2 years but discuss with your injector as each person’s metabolism is different.

Everyone metabolizes Juvederm differently and on top of it the filler will stimulate some collagen too. So quite possible its combination of both. Great to hear that the cheeks still look good after 4 yrs. Volbella will metabolize little faster. 

The average life of Voluma is two years or less. Since everyone metabolizes fillers differently, there is a great difference from one patient to the other. In your case since you had Voluma in order to lift your nasolabial folds the best way to see if your Voluma is still there is looking at those folds. If they are back then your filler is gone.
