I'm an avid triathlete who is eager to start training again! My PS told me I could go on long walks/easy bike as long as I kept my heart rate below 120bpm. I was wondering if there would be issues with gentle non-aerobic exercise like hatha yoga or weightlifting as long as I kept my heart rate low? I'm 31 and was in excellent shape pre-op. I had liposuction of arms, back and flank. Today is day 6 post-op and have gone for leisurely walks since day 3.
Answer: Liposuction post op Congratulations on your surgery meanbankrobber. I tell all my patients no working out, heavy lifting, yoga etc for 4 weeks. I do allow them to do enjoyable walking. We want to prevent additional swelling in the areas that were operated on . I would follow your Plastic Surgeon's recommendations. Best of luck to you while your recovering.

Answer: Yoga after Liposuction-Ask Your Doctor & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol regarding exercise after liposuction. After hi definition liposuction, I recommend waiting 3-4 weeks before beginning to exercise and to stop if there is any discomfort. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer
