Thanks for the question, I would have a chat with your hematologist and discuss the risk profile of coming off of the meds for a short time. The few times this has come up for me I was not able to justify the risk of the procedure compared to the risk of a blood clot with the medication coming off. However, I always am willing to see the patient and discuss with the hematologist
you will need approval from your physician to get surgery, if your condition is stable im sure it should be okay and safe with the right physician. Best, Dr. Emer.
Pre-operative clearance will be required including and especially your blood counts and your clotting studies.
I don’t think the risk/benefit is in your favor but I would talk to your hematologist as they are probably in the best position to analyze your true risk and can give you the best advice. For me, I would not operate on a patient in your situation unfortunately.

I wouldn't recommend liposuction with your condition. Even if you held your Eliquis for 2 days as is often the case and then restarted you would be a significant risk of developing a hematoma or bleeding under the skin during the recovery period after the surgery. Additionally, there is also the risks of developing a blood clot while off of the medicine. Of course, discuss this with your hematologist but your overall health is much more important than the smaller benefit of liposuction
