Truly blown away by my experience at Boyd Beauty! Dr. Boyd and staff were warm and welcoming during my appointment. I was impressed with Dr. Boyd’s professionalism, skill, and artistry. After the right side of my face did not return back to its original position after a T.I.A, Dr. Boyd was able restore my confidence while balancing the symmetric’s of my face with ease! There are no words to express how thankful I am to have been handled with such skill and care. To see my face restored so perfectly was astounding. Soon I will be taking my first selfie in over a year!
Dr. Boyd is extremely professional, and a true expert in his field. I received a small amount of Botox to prevent future lines, and he took great care to ensure I was given a natural effect. Very happy with results and I will be returning!
Dr.Boyd is always a kind and considering physician , at the same time very professional . I personally have visit him on many occasions and he does his absolute best to make me happy . To make me feel confident , and gives me my self-esteem . Besides being a very professional physician the man himself is a very giving person and I highly recommend him to anyone . My respects for Dr. Charles M Boyd .
I just recently started getting any cosmetic treatments on my face and was not even sure what types of treatments would be best for me but Dr Boyd was very informative and professional. I’ve been so impressed by his talent and expertise, he truly is an artist and has an eye for symmetry and beauty. He doesnt just plump you full of product in the typical spots, he uses product in creative ways that really enhance your best features and hide your worst. I would never let anyone touch my face. I’ve referred several clients to him who are all so thankful and pleased with their results as well.
Words cannot describe what Dr. Boyd has done for my self confidence…The second & third photos below are my lips in 2010 before I ever touched them...I literally had NO upper lip, in fact when I smiled it would completely disappear!!! I wish I had a before and after from the first time, but that was back in the day before photos were such a big deal. Fast forward to meeting Dr. Boyd in 2013, he suggested we use Vollure and do it little by little so no one notices a dramatic difference, which was an excellent suggestion. I’ve seen him a few times every year for the last few years and now, I am exactly where I want to be. I love Dr. Boyd because he is so honest, I always want more because I’ve never had lips but he tells me enough is enough when enough is enough. I won’t let anyone else touch my face and even travel allllll the way to Michigan from Miami to see him, which should speak volumes!
Plain and Simple.. Dr. Boyd has changed my life! Long story short: I’m 1/2 Armenian and unfortunately for me, I got my fathers nose. I’ve always wanted to get a nose job but have always been afraid of actually getting it done. I went to doctor Boyd for a Rhinoplasty consultation and asked him his thoughts on my nose/how extensive the surgery would be and he told me he could completely fix it without surgery!!! I was shocked because most doctors would have never mentioned this was an option and instead tried to close me on the rhinoplasty as its more expensive, but he was honest which I really respect. It’s called a non-surgical nose job, takes less than 30 minutes and is essentially painless (when you apply numbing cream before!) He put a filler called Vollure on each side of the hump to straighten it out and put botox in the tip of my nose to raise the tip a little! Dr. Boyd is an artist and I cannot thank him enough for this!!! LIFE CHANGING!
Dr. Boyd is professional, precise, and a perfectionist. He explained the procedure in full detail to manage my expectations and everything was exactly as he described. He has a calming demeanor that made me feel at ease during the procedure. Specifically, he would explain what he was doing with a composed and patient tone. This mannerism was equally expressed towards his staff creating an overall pleasant environment. My results were amazing! My goal was to look "refreshed" and "youthful" (not "fake" or "unnatural") and Dr. Boyd exceeded my expectations. I will be back to maintain my look and recommend him to anyone looking to enhance their natural beauty.
Terrible results and Always rushed. Over priced and had lumpy filler after every visit! I had filler under eyes and had to come in after every visit to have the lumps addressed. I was made to feel like it was me being over sensitive. It still looks terrible 7 months later.
I had bad acne when I was a teenager that resulted in acne scars. They have always really bothered me but much more so lately. As I'm getting older they seem to be getting worse and my Dr said that they would continue to get worse as the skin loses elasticity as you get older. I've done microdermabrasion, chemical peels and light therapies in the past. All make my skin look a little nicer in the short term but no real long term results for the scaring. I finally decided to go for the fraxel repair. My best friend knows a girl who worked as a fraxel sales rep for our area and asked her who the best Dr to go to for it was. She referred me to Dr. Charles Boyd in Birmingham. Coincidentally, I knew someone who went to him for fillers and she looks amazing. So I went for it. During my consultation I asked if I was going to be bloody like some of the pictures I'd seen online and he said no that I would be really sunburned looking afterwards. NOT TRUE! I went in for the procedure and they applied a numbing cream, asked if I had a driver so I could take a valium- um no? Didn't know I was supposed to... The procedure felt like hot knives ripping through my skin. The pain was so intense I was shaking and crying by the time it was done. It smelled like burning skin! I actually asked if my skin was burned off! I had no local anesthetic, which from what I'm reading now is crazy! I couldn't believe my face when I was done. I was bloody and swollen. I was so upset, I had to go home to my 2 young children like this. I was not prepared for this at all. The Dr had said I would just be really red and there are different kinds of fraxel and the pictures I must have seen were probably from the fully ablative laser that takes off the whole outer layer of skin- the kind done in the operating room. There was a huge misunderstanding there. Afterwards I wasn't in any pain, I slept elevated for three nights and never had too much swelling. I cleaned with hydrogen peroxide every few hours and applied tons of Aquaphor. A side note about hydrogen peroxide- it bleaches your skin. I had a false sense of improvement because of this. Once I stopped using the peroxide my skin became more red. By day 4 it started to itch pretty bad, I couldn't sleep at all so day 5 I took Benadryl before going to bed and either that helped the itching or just knocked me out enough where I didn't notice it! I think a little of both. My biggest concern are the lines on my face. They said I'd be pink in 5-7 days but what they didn't mention was that it would not be an even pink like I expected. I look blotchy, red in some areas and white in others. When I called to express this concern they assured me it would start to blend in 2 weeks or so- 2 weeks?? I look ridiculous. I could handle being pink but having the distinct lines of the laser tracks looks terrible. I can't pull this off as a little sunburn. Good thing I'm great with makeup. I'm just praying that they start to go away soon. Currently I'm on day 8 and my skin is much less itchy and irritated. I feel depressed because of the weird lines and unevenness of my skin. I just wish I was a more even pink. I can cover it with makeup but I need kind of a lot. I got a color-correcting CC cream by Stila and is amazing and I wear it around the house. It comes out green but blends into my skin and works pretty good. When I need to go out I use Dior Airflash foundation- its an airbrush foundation- expensive but amazing! When I have makeup on my skin actually looks pretty good- pretty smooth but I know there is still some micro swelling and that the scars will come back when that it all gone. As of now I would say I see am 80% improvement in the scarring but like I said I'm not counting on that being the end result. I would be happy if I get a 50% improvement though- if thats the case then I would say this horrible experience will have been worth it. Updated on 12 Mar 2014: I'm not seeing much improvement- the scars are a little shallower but my skin is still a little swollen so I think that's why- overall skin condition seems worse than before procedure....
Hello! Thank you for your question. I always recommend an in person consult with a board certified plastic surgeon, however, I do think you would benefit from an upper eyelid surgery based off of your photo. Upper eyelid surgery (upper blepharoplasty) usually involves a small incision with minimal downtime. Hope this helps! Best of luck to you.
Hello! To address the upper eyelid drooping, you can use an eyedrop called Upneeq for eyelid ptosis. Botox can also help to lift the brow/eyelid. For under eye hollowness, dermal fillers can be a great non-invasive treatment option with an experienced injector. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your question. I would follow up with the provider who did the treatment to reassess how your skin is healing. Generally RF microneedling helps with fine lines/wrinkles, skin texture, and collagen production with a series of treatments. In my practice we use RF microneedling, CO2 fraxel, and Halo laser to improve texture and signs of aging. Strict sun avoidance and post care are essential for best results. Best of luck!
Ultherapy is a great non-surgical option for skin tightening and collagen production. We often treat the mid and lower face. In my practice we also generally do a combination approach of ultherapy, PDO threads, and injectables such as HA fillers or sculptra to help lift the skin. Best results are seen over a few months. I recommend scheduling a consult with a board certified plastic surgeon or experienced provider to discuss a treatment plan that's right for you.
Acne commonly requires a combination approach of topical medication and other treatments for redness and scarring. In severe cases, you may even need a course of oral antibiotics. We commonly do BBL laser for acne redness and Blue light to kill acne causing bacteria. VI peels are also helpful in reducing pigment and breakouts. I would recommend scheduling an appointment with a dermatologist to determine what treatment options are best for you. Best of luck!
