Hello naomichambers,The strong electromagnetic waves of EmSculpt would be very dangerous directly over the heart muscle, one of the muscles of our body that we certainly do not wish stimulate with supra-maximal contractions. Unfortunately, the pectoral and other chest muscles must be built the old fashioned way...with physically toiling. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
Hi There,Thank you for your question about EmSculpt. Unfortunately we can not treat that area at this time. However EmSculpt is continuously updating and growing so they may have something to treat this area in the future. Best of luck!
EMSculpt uses an electromagnetic field to cause hypercontractions of striated muscle. As such, we don't want to place it anywhere near the heart (the heart is made of cardiac muscle, not striated muscle, but we don't want to cause a problem with the heart, that would be very bad...) So, unfortunately, the pecs are contraindicated. The shoulder could theoretically be treated. I'd treat the biceps and triceps knowing that the shoulders will also be treated at the same time.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa
Emsculpt or any other electromagnetic stimulation device should not be directly used over the cardiac region secondary to possible induced conduction abnormalities. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.
From the single photo submitted, it appears that you are still developing muscle in the areas you are concerned about. So my answer will cover several phases:1) Emsculpt is not indicated to be used over the chest area. It may have a negative affect on cardiac muscle, such as interfering with normal rhythm or even death. So, until further research is done for use in this area, stick to a regimented upper body workout at the gym.2) The new paddles which are approved for extremities, can certainly augment your upper arm workout. They can also be used on the legs.3) You would benefit from counseling from a certified personal trainer who can guide you in diet and supplementation use, along with a “building” routine in your workouts.
Hello, and thank you for sharing your question. Right now, EMSCULPT is only FDA-approved for use on the abdomen and butt and can’t be used on the chest and other areas at the moment. It works by emitting electromagnetic energy to stimulate what are called supramaximal muscle contractions. This is what helps your body to build muscle while burning fat at the same time. Unfortunately, we are not sure if this same technology would be safe and effective on other areas of the body just yet.
It is not recommended to use on the chest. It has a powerful electric current which can reach the heart and affect the rhythm of the heart. It could be fatal. I wouldn't do it. Perhaps when more research is done and a different handpiece it could be possible.
Emsculpt uses electromagnetic energy to stimulate contractions in underlying muscles up to 7 cm beneath the applicator. Because the energy penetrates so deep, there is risk of the energy stimulating heart muscles and potentially causing arrhythmias when placed over the chest or upper back. EMsculpt works well for the abdomen, lower back, biceps, triceps, glutes, quads, hamstrings, and calves.
Thanks for your question. At this moment, no, we cannot treat the chest muscles with this device for caution of affecting the underlying heart muscle. There are attachments now to treat arms, thighs, and calves! This is a completely new type of technology and so we learn more and more about it all the time. Maybe one day? Best wishes
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, Emsculpt cannot be used for pectoral muscles. Emsculpt uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic energy that you should not place over the heart. Emsculpt can be used on the upper arms which can build muscle in the biceps and triceps area, also aiding to the shoulders. Consult with an experience medical spa or board certified plastic surgeon in your area. Good luck!
EMSculpt works by utilizing magnetic stimulation that causes muscular super contractions. I would avoid any high-intensity contractions in the area close to the pelvis to avoid a possible miscarriage. Consult with your doctor to know more about this procedure.
The number of Emsculpt sessions will be determined by your provider and the goals you have in mind. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.
If you are looking to get rid of that focal collection of fat then EMSculpt will not be the best option. Coolsculpting will be a much better solution for that. Please contact a qualified provider or a board certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.
