I am considering Emsculpt for my buttocks, however am also trying-but-not-thing to conceive with my husband. I am not currently pregnant, but what are the consequences of a treatment overlapping a very early pregnancy, as in a pregnancy that is not yet detectable on at home test? If there is a known risk I will not pursue but I’d like to gain the muscle strength from the treatment
Answer: EMSculpt and pregnancy Even though the uterus is deep inside the pelvis, I would not want to treat anyone who thinks they might be pregnant. EMSculpt causes hypercontractions of any striated muscle in the electromagnetic field. If a fetus was in that field, we have no idea what would happen to it. Again, I feel strongly that pregnancy is a contraindication for EMSculpt.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa

Answer: What are the consequences of a treatment overlapping a very early pregnancy? Every physician may vary in protocols for Emsculpt treatments. However, I would highly recommend if your trying or during any stage of pregnancy you should NOT seek any treatment of any kind. The skin and body can be very sensitive during pregnancy. The Emsulpt is magnetic energy and could effect the fetus. Our practice does NOT allow any patient who is trying and/or pregnant to do Emsculpt. Emsculpt treatments would be great to do post pregnancy. Good luck!

Answer: I am not currently pregnant, but what are the consequences of a treatment overlapping a very early pregnancy? Hi cdenayer,There obviously have not and will not be any studies on the effects of EmSculpt on a new conceived fetus. If by chance an early fetus survived the treatments, I would imagine that the baby would have an incredible 6-pack and a butt lift to make the Kardashians jealous. All kidding aside, I would wait until after pregnancy for your EmSculpt treatment as it is also beneficial for diastasis recti (separation of abdominal muscles.) Your other option is to make sure that you are not pregnant yet, use condoms or abstinence for the two weeks that it takes to have your treatment and then get back to work with your hubby. Good luck with getting pregnant and having a healthy baby. Be well.Dr. P

Answer: EMSculpt EMSculpt works by utilizing magnetic stimulation that causes muscular super contractions. I would avoid any high-intensity contractions in the area close to the pelvis to avoid a possible miscarriage. Consult with your doctor to know more about this procedure.

Answer: We don't know what we don't know. I don't think there is much data on what happens if you have EmSculpt during pregnancy. The manufacture says you shouldn't have treatment. That more likely because it was never tested for safety in pregnancy. It doesn't' mean that it isn't' safe but we don't know that it is. Would I be worried if I treated the Gluts with EmSculpt and then found out the patient was unknowingly pregnant? No I wouldn't.
