I really like the look of some noses where there seems to be a chiseled tip - slight dimples on the sides, under the tip, almost with "hard" edges rather than the soft edges and tips that you end up seeing in so many nose jobs. Is there a way to recreate this look? And is there a name for this type of nose?

Answer: Chiseled nose Noses can to some degree be "chiseled" by adding carved grafts to the nose. It is important not to overdo this or the nose can have an unnatural done look.

Answer: Chiseled tip rhinoplasty The "chiseled" look is a function of the thickness of the skin and soft tissue overlying the cartilage. Patients with thinner skin will always look more "chiseled" compared to patients with thicker skin. There are ways to make the skin a little bit thinner by using retinoic acid topical treatments and reducing soft tissue thickness surgically, but there is a limit to what can be accomplished. An in-person exam would be necessary to determine if your desired look is possible for your nose.
