How many CCs of filler would I need to get my desired results? (Photo)

Question

I'm debating between a long lasting solution for getting my jawline back (facelift/fat grafting) or using fillers like in a Y lift. I'm curious if the cost of fillers I need would be less, the same, or more than having something like a facelift or fat grafting 6-8K in my area. If it's still under the cost of a facelift, I may choose that since there's the benefit of not having to take time off work. Also, if you think anything else would help me look younger (I'm 37), I'm all ears. Thanks for your time!

I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert. Volume and contouring of the cheeks can be created with well-placed fillers like Voluma, Radiesse and Bellafill as well as Sculptra. Fat grating is an alternative. Ultherapy, J Plasma and RF treatments can provide skin tightening and lift as needed.For a more defined jawline adn to strengthen your profile (preventing the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use fillers like Revanesse Versa or Radiesse to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline. Thank you for your question and pictures. I think it's too early for a facelift for you. I usually use between 1-2 syringes of filler per side to define the jawline. I often combine this with Sculptra (a collagen stimulator), Ultrasound, and Radiofrequency treatments to further improve results. Cost will be less than a facelift, but results are temporary and will need to be repeated. Most people look for non-surgical treatments because they do not want the risk or downtime associated with surgery and want more natural results. Make sure you see an experienced physician for an in-person consultation and evaluation. Hope this helps!

I think you would do very well with  approximately 4cc of fillers to accomplish your goals. You could definitely improve the appearance of your cheeks, chin, and jowls using a filler like Voluma to revolumize, lift, and sculpt the affected areas. The precise amount of filler required would require a formal evaluation by an experienced injector.

I do think fillers will help you and I suspect you would need 2-4 syringes of an HA filler like Restylane Lyft to get a noticeable result. Fillers are temporary lasting up to 1 year. Honestly, I think you maybe a little young for facelift at 37. I find the results of fat grafting to be unpredictable.

Based on your photos I don't think you need a facelift. Skin tightening with J/plasma would help a lot, either ablative treatment or jawline under the skin heating. As far as the fillers are concerned I would start out with 1-2,cc’s and see what happens.

You should see a decent result on your jawline and chin with the use of fillers. This will be less expensive than a facelift, but as you point out, fillers are temporary. I would advise you do a in person consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to further discuss both options. You should be able to get the fillers that same day if you opt to do that.

For your age I would recommend trying fillers first as they carry less complications and downtime than a facelift or fat transfer. With fat transfers it is unpredictable how much fat dies from 1 ml injected. With fillers if we inject 1 ml and you are happy, we can replicate the treatment using the same amount with the same satisfaction. I generally start with 1-2 ml of filler each side of the jaw and pre-auricular area of the face to help lift and contour. You can always add more with filler. Its trickier with surgeries, once its done its done. Prices vary from clinic to clinic, however, make sure your decision is based on the reputation and experience of the practitioner. Hope this helps
