225cc implants - petite frame I had a breast reduction about a decade ago at 24 years old, I was an E cup and went down to a B cup. I was extremely happy after my reduction but after about 8 years I lost some volume with age so decided to get a small implant to restore volume. I had my procedure yesterday and ended up with 225cc - initially we had discussed a size range of 250cc to 325cc. I am 5ft tall and 45kg so opted to go on the smaller end of things as to not end up top heavy as I was previously when I had E cups. During the surgery the implant size range discussed were all too big for my frame so my surgeon opted to go for the 225cc. I'd say by looking at them today (surgery was yesterday) that I am now a c cup which is what I was hoping for. Obviously they are swollen at the moment so it's also hard to tell. My implants are mentor round silicone implants. I also had my implants placed over the muscle as I am quite active and do alot of rock climbing so the surgeon advised over would be better for my lifestyle. I have added before photos and some after and will continue to add more throughout recovery.
I initially thought that 250cc implants were going to be extremely small for me so to end up with 225cc and have them to be a great size and very light weight is a delightful unexpected result. I am extremely happy with my results thus far.

It's been two days since my operation and I am feeling pretty good. I have not had any pain and have not needed to take any painkillers. There is abit of soreness here and there however nothing to warrant taking medication for. I have been struggling to sleep as I have always been a tummy sleeper so sleeping on my back hasn't been amazing.
The implants are definitely looking abit swollen at this stage. I'm quite surprised at how light they feel, I don't feel much different to before in terms of weight.
I have been driving since they day after the operation and I don't feel restricted in any way, I'm not sure if this is due to the implants being placed over the muscle or because they are smaller implants.
I will post a few more photos in the coming days.

Day 4 post op and feeling pretty good. I've included some progress photos. They seem to have softened abit now although the right still seems somewhat harder than the left.
I've been feeling abit of fatigue but still no pain. They seem to be abit more shapely now that some swelling has subsided. So far very happy with how they are looking.

It's been 2 weeks now and they seem to have settled quite alot. I've added some photos to show the difference. It feels like they are always changing daily. I'm still happy with the 225cc, I think any bigger would have been abit much for much for my frame.

About to hit the 4 week mark in 2 days or so. Still very happy with my results. They're very soft now and the incisions are healing well. Im abit over wearing the support bra but ive still got to wear it for another 2 weeks. Knowing now what they are size wise and settled I may have even gone with the 250cc just to have a little more fullness in the top but in saying that I'm really happy with what I've got. I've included some updated photos.
Office review - so helpful and responsive I have nothing but great things to say about Dr Baldwin. From the start to finish he has always been a straight shooter and would explain anything I needed to know thoroughly. I can’t even begin to describe how happy I am with the results (I had TT, BL,BA). Dr Baldwin had me as prepared as I possibly could have been for the surgery. The nurses at the practice were absolutely brilliant. Always available if I needed them and were so helpful and responsive. The reception staff were just as wonderful, super friendly and helpful always.
I will say for anyone looking at having the surgery, it is 100% worth it but you must prepare mentally for how hard the recovery is, that is something I struggled with. Overall I’m thrilled! Thank you DR Baldwin.
Early 40s, 7 weeks post-rhinoplasty & thrilled with the outcome I am 7 weeks post-rhinoplasty and would like to share my experience for others in Australia seeking the very best surgeon. Though I am in my early 40's, rhinoplasty is something I never thought I would do as I have a non-traditional concept of what is beauty and was quite comfortable in my skin even though I had a large masculine nose, visible mostly in my profile. Nevertheless, I was certain about this decision once I made it. I heard Dr Damien Grinsell was one of the best so I trusted I was in capable hands. His offices were extremely professional and the reception and nurse staff always so incredibly kind, patient and in good spirits. He was so confident in his skills, so sure about how to work with my nose and very thick problem skin, and so thorough in his explanation of my options that I trusted his judgement completely after our first visit. I had very little idea what I wanted, and sought and took his assured advice on each decision. The day the cast came off 2 weeks later, I was comfortable in public with the result even with the swelling - the healing cuts were so hidden that no one could tell I had anything done even friends I'd known my entire life. A testament to how natural the result was and how skilled Damien is.
Side note: on the internet, I thought the pain was overplayed (say no to potentially addictive opioid-based painkillers, you really should only need over the counter painkillers), but thought the discomfort was downplayed. It is such a quick recovery considering the work that has been done. The first week or two is confronting physically as you deal with your constant bloody nose and mentally as you come to terms with the fact that you butchered your face, so you need to be 100% certain of your reasons for doing this to get through that time. My decision was fast, and my discomfort with my old nose minimal, so I had a tough time reassuring myself so instead, I distracted myself with hours of documentaries, sitcoms, podcasts, reading and walking around the patio. I suggest that in the first high charged week, you do not think too much about your anxieties and so not feel too much into any negative emotions and distract your mind as much as possible. It will pass once the cast is removed as the worst is over. Regarding my questions about physical changes and issues, the nurses at Horizon were so responsive and reassuring as I emailed them for advice. This included: for about 5 weeks afterwards I had a runny and congested nose, and so I was mouth breathing at night which led to waking up feeling like I swallowed razor blades (normal). I had a splitting sinus headache for days in week 2/3 (the nose did not hurt) which I eventually informed the nurses about (don't wait to notify your surgeon if this happens to you), and I received another round of antibiotics - my headache improved almost immediately. I had a worrying droopy eye which self-corrected these past few days so I assume it was due to swelling as the nurse at Horizon advised.
I am thrilled with the outcome and am very happy I took Damien's advice on the form. If I understood correctly, Damien said the skin was much tougher to work with than anticipated and indicated that the outcome much better than expected with consideration for the thickness of the skin. He is truly one of the best.
One last piece of information - I think what was helpful for my recovery is that I switched to a very high anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant diet. I also ate a lot of foods high in Vitamin C and the high in the building blocks of collagen, and was drinking 3 litres of water a day.
Thank you Damien and thank you staff at Horizon.
Dr. Mark Baldwin is an Exceptionally Gifted Surgeon At 64 years of age, I underwent a revision rhinoplasty allograft performed by Dr. Mark Baldwin. My ENT Specialist referred me to Mark. Mark was open and honest about all aspects and expectations, including some very disturbing facts. I left my 1st appointment numbed and speechless.
I required an allograft (use of donor rib cartilage from a dead person to reconstruct my nose). Allograft in rhinoplasty is extremely uncommon and only used as a last resort. Definitely not for the faint hearted. After much deliberation, I went ahead with surgery and never looked back. The surgery was successful and exceeded all my expectations. Mark's skills as a highly qualified surgeon was immediately obvious. The results were amazing and life changing. I could see a substantial improvement in nose, both functional and aesthetic. For the 1st time in my life I could breathe easily and noticed an improvement in my asthmatic cough. My nose looked straight and no longer bent in both directions L and R (caused possibly by major nose trauma from M.V accident in 1990). Nose suited my face. I now have a similar 1974 rhino post-op nose (early pioneer days of plastic surgery in Aus). My perforated septum no longer causing any issues at this early stage.
His calmness projects a re-assuring sense of feeling safe, minimising any anxiety factor. He is quietly confident, enthusiastic, passionate, extremely talented, accepts challenges and is highly skilled with many of experience behind him. Combine all these attributes and you have an exceptionally gifted surgeon, a rare quality to find.
Thank you Mark, I am forever grateful that you saw my ne5theds and took me under your umbrella as a patient. We both know it is easy to refuse to operate aand turn someone away (knocked back by another Dr.). But you didn't. Despite all the red flags, knowing all the risks and complications, Mark was willing to take up the challenge.
Once more a sincere heartfelt thank you.

Age is merely a number, but delaying surgery potentially allows other health issues to arise. It's important to remember that good health is ideal for elective surgery. Rev Rhino took approx 3 1/2 hours. Road to recovery from complete nose reconstruction is long and slow. Plenty of info on Web regarding congestion, swelling, bruising, numbness, and healing process. Must admit that 1st Rhino op was a breeze compared to Rev Rhino. 1st few days after op were the rough. I felt very tired, no energy, bed ridden, slept alot and just rest, rest, and more rest. No pressure on nose Bridge meant no glasses or driving for 6 weeks. Sleeping upright and flat on back proved uncomfortable. Use common sense to avoid unnecessary knocks as nose is EXTREMELY SENSITIVE. ( no babysitting spaghetti arm kids, Sleeping in spare room). After 6 weeks, nose is still not fully recovered. However, I'm back into full swing of normal activities and enjoying life. Hope this helps.
Nose of my Dreams Damien Grinsell performed my rhinoplasty in December 2020 and all I can say is WOW! My splint came off today and I cried of happiness... From day 1, Damien has been absolutely amazing to deal with!!!!
