Bruising and swelling two weeks post lower bleph. How long before this goes away?

How long before this goes away? I had a lower bleph without incisions done from inside of lid, the bags are gone but I have these bruised and swollen pouches remaining. I had belotero injected into the tear troughs last November, 2013. Is there any possibility this could have any bearing on why I am still swollen? I have been doing light massage and am taking bromelain and using topical arnica at night. Thank you for your response as I still have to wear glasses to work to cover this.

I would suggest waiting a little longer.  Usually by two weeks the swelling and bruising is gone, but it looks like you are healing slowly.  A V beam laser can be done to the bruises to make them go away quicker.  But the swelling needs more time.

Bruising of the lower eyelids is to be expected after lower blepharoplasty and is often seen even after upper blepharoplasty.  There are anatomical reasons that the bruising and swelling becomes localized to this area.  Most of the bruising and swelling is typically gone after two weeks, however it is not uncommon for some patients to still see bruising at three or four weeks.  There is nothing that you can do about it at this point. It will definitely resolve, however you need to be patient.  You can try to conceal it with make up.

Yes the belotero, which is still present, can make swelling in this area worse.  The filler will hold extra water and this will have a bearing on how long you are swollen.  The bromelain and arnica are ineffective and will have not effect on the duration of the bruising.

Bruising and swelling after lower bleph can go on for several weeks, 4 to 6 weeks. You are doing the right thing with arnica/bromelin. Make sure you apply sunscreen also... a bruise could turn into a brown pigmentation if exposed to sun.

Lower lids are soooo prickly.  They tend to bruise more than upper lids even with the most careful surgery.  It looks like you are on your way to healing because the bruises are turning a lovely shade of greenish yellow.  My guess is that in another two weeks you will be fine.  Make sure you stay in close touch with your surgeon and follow his/her instructions.  Also, at this point a little cover-up makeup is likely safe but check with your surgeon first.
