Is 4 weeks enough time to heal after upper and lower blepharoplasty?

In our experience, four weeks is a decent amount of time for initial recovery, but healing varies from person to person. By the four-week mark, many patients experience reduced swelling and bruising and can often return to their normal activities. Typically 1 month is sufficient time to heal from upper and lower blepharoplasty. I typically tell my patients that after 1 month (with make up on) they will be ready for all social events.

The simple answer to your question is that you are really cutting your timing close and better to defer your surgery until after the wedding. Assuming it will take two weeks to arrange your surgery, I don't think that you have enough time to have surgery, heal to a level that you don't feel self conscious, etc.

Blepharoplasty patients vary in their healing times. Some patients have minimal bruising and look pretty good afterwards. Postoperative swelling improves each week with surgery and it may take 6 months to see the final results. Scars mature over 6-12 months, if healing well makeup may be resumed often at 2 weeks.
After upper and lower blepharoplasty, most patients resume usual activities in 2-3 weeks.

As long as your surgery is done meticulously and you are compliant with your postoperative icing and instructions, the bruising, and the vast majority of swelling will be gone four weeks after your surgery. Your scar may.still be slightly pink, but this should easily be covered up with make up. Speak to your plastic surgeon to be sure they understand your concerns,

In my opinion, 4 weeks should be enough time for the initial healing after an upper and lower blepharoplasty. If there is any bruising and swelling, this normally would resolve after a week or two. I would think you would be presentable after 4 weeks. The entire healing process can take several months though and sometimes even longer.

Hello, thank you for your question! 4 weeks should be plenty of time to heal. If you have any bruising, you will be able to cover it up with, make up at that point. The eyelid surgeries tend to heal very fast.

Your son's wedding may not be as stressful as getting ready for a daughter's wedding. Remember that Murphy was an optimist. If everything goes well, many people return to work and social activities within 2 weeks after eyelid surgery. I must stress that does not mean that they are fully healed, but at 2 weeks many are at a point that people stop asking if you had surgery. However they are still swollen. The eyes still feel dry. That is many people. A certain number will have persistent swelling. One of the responding doctors mentioned TXA, which is thought to reduce the risk of bruising. Unfortunately it is also associated occasional skin necrosis which has occurred in lower eyelids. I don't recommend this product. My advice is to avoid cosmetic eyelid within 2 months of your own wedding or a child's wedding. The videos and photographs show swelling. Sure, it is great to look better, but you now do not have enough time to reliably heal for this event. You risk not feeling comfortable attending the wedding if you are still noticeably swollen at one month, which can certainly happen. Don't do this to yourself.

The upper and lower eyelids heal quickly. The good thing is you can wear make-up to cover up any bruising. Often times, the worst bruising is inferior.
