I only have slight issues with my breasts after 100lb weight loss and will need an extended brachioplasty as well as a lower body lift. I am wondering if the arm lift will help tighten my chest at all, even if only slightly.
Answer: Arm lift arm reduction arm liposuction brachioplasty long arm scar extended arm lift modified T arm lift breast lift Hi 360Life, Thank you for your question regarding an extended arm lift or brachioplasty after 100 pound weight loss. During the first part of the arm lift surgery, excess arm fat is removed with arm liposuction. During the second part of the arm lift surgery, excess arm skin is removed. The amount of excess arm skin removed can be increased by extending the arm incision towards the elbow and towards the axillae or arm pit. This is termed an extended arm lift or brachioplasty. Sometimes the extended arm lift is carried down the side of the chest. This results in a vertical torsoplasty. The vertical torsoplasty removes a vertically oriented ellipse of skin and fat from the side of the chest. The vertical torsoplasty scar can extend to the lower bra strap line, upper hip, or even belt line. The vertical torsoplaty, not the extended arm lift or brachioplasty, tightens the chest. If you have any other questions regarding an arm lift, brachioplasty, or vertical torsoplasty, please contact my office. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Will an extended brachioplasty help tighten up my breast area? Depending upon how the brachioplasty is performed, some laxity in the axilla and the lateral chest wall can be improved.

Answer: Chestwall skin excision provides essential rejuvenation in some Hi 360 life. Yes, but in very select cases. Extending the brachioplasty scars down around the arm pit onto the side of your chest may make the outer end of your breasts look less saggy by virtue of tightening your chestwall, but is not as effective as a proper breast lift (or implant to restore volume). Your PS will be able to assess and show you the effect of removing the chestwall skin on your breasts. Best wishes,

Answer: Little effect on breasts. Extending the arm lift down and into the chest wall will not tighten the breasts very much if at all. A breast lift will likely be required directly on the breasts. However, the extended arm lift will tighten loose skin along chest, back and bra rolls very nicely. Warmest regards, Dr. ALDO
