Breasts different sizes - will I need a revision? (photos)

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. If you are unhappy with your breast augmentation results, you may want to consider a revision. Keep in mind that most women have asymmetric breasts naturally. If you want them to be closer in symmetry, you will be able to achieve your goals with a smaller implant on the larger side. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your questions and pictures! It seems that you're unhappy with your results. Breast augmentation can usually be revised for a lot of reasons and changing implant size is a common one but that is obviously an additional surgery. It appears that your left breast is larger than your right. Though there may be anatomical asymmetries, there is a difference in size as well. I would contact your surgeon for a full examination and for treatment options. I can’t say for certain based on pictures, but I assume that you will have to undergo a revision.

I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area that is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and performs a lot of breast implants. Good luck with your future correction!

Your asymmetry can be improved through a revision to adjust the volumes. The question is whether this condition justifies additional surgery. This is a personal decision and depends on your current degree of dissatisfaction.

It appears that you have asymmetry, but it is very difficult to address that issue based only on these photos. Give it at least 1 year for result to mature and than talk to your surgeon what can be done to improve it. Possibly larger implant? Good luck.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Some of the discrepancy is in the different shapes between your two breasts but if you'd like to narrow the difference you would need to exchange the right implant for a larger size or the left for a smaller one. Hope this helps.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you had with your breast augmentation. If the difference is size is bothersome to you and you wish to have it corrected it will need to be done surgically. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

If that small difference really bothers you, then have new implants placed. However, the difference is small and others will not notice. Please discuss this with your surgeon.

It is not uncommon to use different size implants on the left and right breasts because many women have different breast sizes pre-operatively. It seems to me that the left breast implant may be shifting slightly, which may be making it appear larger to you.

I agree with you that your left breast is easily 100+cc's larger than your right breast, not just 25 cc's! The initial determination of the volume of asymmetry was obviously incorrect. Only re operation using sizers during surgery, with you placed in the semi sitting position and observing different filled sized implants to determine best amount to be placed in the right side so you appear more symmetrical. Expect fees in the $8,000+ ranges.
