I am 23, 95kg and 183cm I have lost a total of 70kg through VSG and have a lot of loose skin. I have had 2 consultations for tummy tuck and have been told it would have to be FDL tummy tuck. I find the scarring of this procedure too and not something I would be comfortable with. Will a normal/extended tummy tuck be possible for me. Also is a 360 tummy needed if you are happy with how your lower body looks. My main concerns are my stomach, upper back and arms. I want kids in 5+ years time
Answer: After massive weight loss surgery It is wonderful what you have achieved after losing all that weight!! Must be very proud of yourself. After the massive weight lost, You have developed excess of length which is the apron hanging in the lower abdomen, but also you have developed significant excess of width, which is the saggy skin you observe when bending over your body, that won’t improve at all sound only ETT. If the back part of your body is not your concern you may have Extended Tummy Tuck associated with Fleur the Lis, muscle repair, mobs lift, and liposuction to create a flat abdomen and tapered waist. Be encouraged!!! Dr. Cardenas

Answer: Fdl or transverse tt it would be helpful just to see a pic of your tum standing front on besed on the pics you have sent, I am inclined to agree with the other opinions you have had in that FDL is most appropriate in terms of trying to gather up and remove as much as possible these extra folds of skin that you have on your abdomen. If you are determined to avoid a vertical scar from the FDL then you have a standard trnasverse abdominoplasty, possibly with some liposuction as an adjunct. I am sure this would make a dramatic improvement but I do not think that the contouring would be as good as could be achieved with an FDL I guess it's really up to you to weigh up whether you would accept some ongoing slackness of your tummy skin especially in the upper area if it avoided you having the vertical scar. With regard to 360, that is redundant skin around the back and so this would be an appropriate thing to consider. My personal feeling is that you tend not to see your back so much and it is quite a big undertaking in terms of the operation, the demands placed on your body overall, and also the post surgical recovery to have surgery and a fresh scar/wound all the way around. so I tend to recommend doing the tummy procedure initially and once everything is all healed up, if you still feel troubled by the way things are around the back, then this can be addressed more safely in a second procedure..... If you feel happy enough just with the Tommy sort it out, then you save yourself the money effort and risk by not having the 360.

Answer: Abdomen You can get good results with the extended tummy tuck, but probably will get your best results with the vertical component. However, the tuck is only for you and you can decide not to do the vertical scar. Pregnancy may undo some of the tucking of the muscle and give you more stretched out skin.

Answer: Can I avoid FDL? Congratulations on your impressive weight loss! You can consider an extended tummy tuck or even a circumferential tummy tuck for significant improvement. Due to the laxity of the upper abdomen you will likely still have some loose skin if a FDL is not performed. An in person evaluation is always best. I've included a video that I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Tummy tuck A standard tummy tuck without the fdl will work fine. I agree with you. It’s not worth the extra scar
