I had my rhinoplasty consulation earlier this week and was told that I won't be able to have a super refined tip due to thick skin and a lot of cartilige in my tip. I was advised that my nose could become more narrow, defined and I could have the ski slope, however I did want a button type slim nose that would also suit my South Asian features. How realistically achievable is this for me?

Answer: Not impossible Hello from Istanbul, I appreciate your question. Without a physical examination, it's hard to make precise comments, but generally speaking, more refined nasal tips can indeed be crafted for ethnic patients with thicker skin. This is a particular area of our expertise. Rhinoplasty on thick skin requires specialized techniques and advanced methods for optimal results. From what I can gather from your pictures, your desired tip shape doesn't seem impossible, but, of course, an in-person consultation would be best. I wish you all the best and hope you find a trustworthy plastic surgeon!

Answer: Asian Rhinoplasty It is difficult to answer that question without seeing and feeing your nose in person. However, the photos do not seem to indicate an impossible achievement. I base this on the light reflexes and contour of the tip I see in the photos. You would be best served by seeing other revision rhinoplasty specialists for other opinions. What might seem difficult for one surgeon with a limited amount of experience, may be relatively straightforward for another!
