Is it safe to have my septal extension graft removed?

Question

I have a septal extension graft however I am struggling with the stiffness/hard sensation. Would it be possible to have this removed to make my nose softer and also appear softer? I also have a small 3mm septal perforation and my breathing isn’t good. I am nearly 4 years post op.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to answer your question without looking at photographs. It also depends on the purpose of the septal extension graft. For example, if it is being used to support your nasal tip, removal of this graph could lead to a droopy nasal tip appearance. Hello and thank you for your question. Yes, it is possible to remove the septal extension extension graft and replace with grafts that will have a softer and less stiff feeling. With good surgical technique, you could likely have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Hello. 
If you are happy how your nose looks, removing the septal extension graft will  be a great mistake. Septal extension grafts are the best way to give long lasting results on tip position, and stiffnes is probably the only odd  with this technique, but its benefits are way more.
