Rhinoplasty / septoplasty but what else? (Photo)

Question

I have thought of getting a rhinoplasty and septoplasty for sometime! I know my septum is quite deviated and I believe this makes it harder for me to breath through my nose. I am also curious as to what other recommendations anyone has to feminise my face? My face is quite lobsided and I have had braces before but my upper jaw is still narrow / molars are crooked still. I think this affects my asymmetry is well. Thank you :)

Hello !

Based on your pictures, I believe, in my experience, that you could also benefit from a Medialized external lip lift. It would not only elevates the corners of the mouth, but increases the red lip visible on either end of your upper lip.

Of course, an « in person » exam is necessary.

Facial fat transfer could also bring more harmony to your face and make it more feminine, if performed by a skilled board certified plastic surgeon.

In addition to septorhinoplasty, you might benefit from adding more volume to your midface, upper cheek and chin areas using filler injection. These can be done after your rhinoplasty procedure or before.

In person exam is essential. Based on limited photos you appear to be a good candidate for Rhinoplasty preferably performed through a closed technique. In the right hands you can expect a more feminine, more elegant nose. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS fro in person exam

Hi @CourageousDelight! Thank you for sending your photos. It appears that your septum is deviated to the right. You also have a dorsal hump and a bulbous tip. You would benefit from a rhinoseptoplasty. A rhinoplasty in my opinion is one of the most difficult procedures to perform. The skill, artistry, and technique of the surgeon will determine your outcome. In my practice, I utilize piezosurgery. Piezosurgery is a more gentle technique that allows for greater precision. Less bruising and swelling is common with Piezosurgery. In a typical rhinoplasty, a hammer and chisel technique is performed leading to more inadvertent fractures. I hope this was helpful!

Overall there is nothing too far off with your nose. I think the tip is the main area as it is disproportionately large. The dorsum has a small bump and is perhaps a little too big. Take some inspirational photos with you when you go for your consultation. Good communication is the key to success. Good luck.

Based on your photos, you appear to have a crooked and wide nasal appearance on front view,, and a long nasal appearance and a profile bump. There is a strong possibility that your crooked nasal appearance is due to a deviated nasal septum. Other than rhinoplasty surgery to achieve a narrower, straighter, shorter and less distracting nasal appearance, I would not suggest any further procedures. Hope this helps! Doctor Joseph

Hello! First of all thank you for your question.I have evaluated your case regarding the information you provided and your photos.From the photos it looks like your nose is deviated to the right; from side it looks like you have a bump (that could be shrinked thanks to Piezo method). It also looks like you have a bulbous tip compared to the rest of your nose. I recommend you a rhinoplasty combined with a lip lifting surgery to feminise your face. Only rhinoplasty would also change a lot, since it is in the middle of your face.

Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. I think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. it is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. In your case, you have pretty features, but do have some mild to moderate facial asymmetry.  I would plan fat transplantation along the smaller cheek and jawline. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Best wishes to you.

Rhinoplasty and what other procedures? Your nose is not really that bad but there is a small dorsal hump, a slightly bulbous tip, and some over projection. The forward projection of your chin is slightly deficient particularly in contrast to your slightly over projecting nose. While nothing cries out to be done, if you wanted to harmonize your profile and make it more delicate and feminine, a Rhinoplasty combined with either a small chin implant or some long-term filler to the chin could be considered. Some filler to the lip might also be beneficial. If there is a deviated septum, that of course could be addressed along with the rhinoplasty.
