In general, nasal x-rays are not helpful for determining the Treatment and diagnosis of someone who sustained nasal trauma. In our opinion, anyone who has a change in the appearance of their nose after trauma broke their nose. I recommend you to get a full check-up in 2 months from now, if it is still visible, you can get a rhinoplasty surgery done to correct the deviation.Best regards!

The bump might be just swelling that will disappear with time, or it might be caused by bony overgrowth during healing. It is hard to tell from the pictures, and it is best to be assessed with physical examination by a specialized facial plastic surgeon.

You could have some callus formation from a small fracture. These typically improve with time. See a local rhinoplasty surgeon for their guidance and potential intervention if this fails to resolve spontaeously.

So it can be difficult to ascertain whether a bump on a nose is:
-cartilage
-swelling
-scar tissue
-persistent deviation of septum or bone
-internal swelling causing external uneveness

The best place to start is probably with your surgeon. Sometimes an injection such as kenalog and/or 5-Fluorouracil can reduce the bump depending on the etiology.

First of all, thanks for your question. When I evaluate your photos, I think your issue may be a broken nose. It makes me think that it is a permanent issue, because for about 1 month passed after your injury. Therefore, I think you can benefit from rhinoplasty surgery.

Is your post traumatic bump permanent? trauma to the nose, even in the absence of a fracture can cause a noticeable bump or asymmetry which can last for several months. The probability, since the x-rays were negative, is that the bump will eventually resolve. However the mid portion of the nose is cartilaginous, not bony, and disruption of some kind to the Cartilage of the mid portion of the nose would probably not show up on x-ray. I would say the odds are in your favor, but there is no certitude until several months have passed.

At this point, it's probably going to be permanent, but don't make a final determination about surgery for at least two more months. Choose your surgeon wisely, since rhinoplasty is the most difficult procedure to perform correctly in the entire field of cosmetic surgery
