Is this bump on my nose permanent? Pictures included (Photo)

Question

I injured my nose Feb 10th. It was very swollen at first, I had an X-ray done and my nose was midline with nothing displaced. A couple of doctors looked at it and they said they don’t believe it’s broken, there is a bump that they say is probably temporary but I won’t know for sure for a few months. It’s been 3.5 weeks, and I’m worried it’s permenant? The pics are right after the injury, a week and a half ago, and now

In general, nasal x-rays are not helpful for determining the Treatment and diagnosis of someone who sustained nasal trauma. In our opinion, anyone who has a change in the appearance of their nose after trauma broke their nose. This is bothering you and not resolving, please consider Consulting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists for an opinion as to what might be best for you moving forward. Hope this helps! Hello! Thank you for your question.From the photos it looks like your dorsum have been affected and your nose looks deviated to the right. I recommend you to get a full check-up in 2 months from now, if it is still visible, you can get a rhinoplasty surgery done to correct the deviation.Best regards!

Hello,
The bump might be just swelling that will disappear with time, or it might be caused by bony overgrowth during healing. It is hard to tell from the pictures, and it is best to be assessed with physical examination by a specialized facial plastic surgeon.

You could have some callus formation from a small fracture. These typically improve with time. See a local rhinoplasty surgeon for their guidance and potential intervention if this fails to resolve spontaeously.

So it can be difficult to ascertain whether a bump on a nose is:
-cartilage
-swelling
-scar tissue
-persistent deviation of septum or bone
-internal swelling causing external uneveness

The best place to start is probably with your surgeon.  Sometimes an injection such as kenalog and/or 5-Fluorouracil can reduce the bump depending on the etiology.
